Truth Or Dare

Ch-5

You know those days when everything goes normal and you have this gut feeling that something is going to happen, be it good or bad.

Today is one of those days.

The school hours are almost finished. Only the last period is left. PE. You know how lazy people, like me, dread them.

I change into my gym clothes and run laps around the field. The coach doesn't have to say it to us. The moment we set foot on the field we gotta run two laps.

I'm a really slow runner. Like slower than more than half the class. Also because I keep thinking while I run.

We play dodgeball. It was quite fun. It's not like I don't like playing. I do. But only when I want to enjoy it. Also, we won the game!

And that rarely comes. Today was going well why not enjoy this?

Till the moment ruins it. I know something bad is going to happen now.

And it does.

When I come out of the girl's locker room I am stopped by, the one and only. Yep, you guessed it.

Jace. Jace Robinson.

"Hey, Stella! " he greets. I walk down the hallway ignoring him.

I knew this day was too good to be true.

" Baby. Have I ever done anything to make you angry? " he says in an innocent voice.

Innocent, my ass! I mentally scoff. He is talking like he doesn't know what has happened.

"Baby, Let's get back together," he says in a seducing voice and grabs my wrist. As if I'm going to fall for that again.

" Listen, Jace," I snap pulling my hand out of his grasp. " first of all we're never getting back together, and don't call me that! " He is probably only doing this only because it is some stupid dare he got last year to take my virginity. Probably. But I know for sure that he doesn't like me.

I think I've made that clear already.

"Stella -"

" Look Jace, if this is some stupid dare just leave me alone and if it's not then I don't know why you're here. "

"Because -"

"Because you love me? " I scoff, " yeah I know how much you love me. We have had this conversation before Jace. I'm not interested in you. and I. Have. Moved. On! Get it through your thick head. What proof do you want? "

" You don't have a boyfriend ."

"seriously that's it? I don't have a boyfriend doesn't mean that I haven't moved on from you. Why am I talking about moving on? I never liked you. And if that's what you wanted you should have told me earlier. I could have gotten rid of you long back. I already have a boyfriend. "

Where am I gonna find a boyfriend from?

"Who? " his jaws clench.

I look behind him to see Drake coming. Oh, my night in shining armour.

" There he is, " I give a fake smile to Jace and move towards Drake.

" Hi! " I say in a cheerful voice. I move up on my tip toes.

His face is still too far. Why does he have to be so tall again?

I hold his face and bring it down pressing a kiss on his cheek. " Please play along. I need help. " I whisper into his ear.

" What's a wrong babe?" Drake asks I go down. I send him a grateful smile.

" He is troubling me. Says I don't have a boyfriend. You are mine, right? "

"of course. " he sends me a dazzling smile. I have to admit he is a good actor

I turn around and Drake puts his arm around my shoulders. I cross my arms "You saw him? Happy?"

He doesn't say anything and storms off. I hope he doesn't trouble me again.

I could have ended this long ago If I told my brother. He is very protective of me. But if he knew there would be a lot of bloodshed. He has a good build but Jace has a better one. What if Talon got hurt?

Trust me I'm a nonviolent type of girl so I couldn't have tolerated that.

I feel my shoulders sinking for his hand.

" your hand is so heavy...." I mumble. I remove his hand from where it was and smile up at him. " Thank you for today. I appreciate it "

" Of course." he returned my smile.

He ain't that bad. Just cocky I guess.

We stand there awkwardly for a few seconds " Umm... I need another favour...Can we talk somewhere in private? "

He gives me a confused look but agrees anyway.

We get our books from the locker and head toward his car.

He has a black charger. It looks pretty cool. From inside he has black leather seats. I don't like that smell. Y'know of leather. That's why I avoid sitting in a car. I'll just finish this business as soon as possible and get some fresh air.

" So.. What I was saying is you need to be my boyfriend ."

"What ?"

" I mean fake boyfriend. What if Jace comes to know it was an act and troubles me again? Please at least for a month. " I give my best puppy dog eyes. And trust me, I am not very good at that.

" Umm but I don't date. "

" That's even better than you can say you were dating me the whole time. "

" But -"

" no buts. We don't even have to put much effort. Many people were listening to our conversation. There will be rumours by tomorrow. And maybe I can do something for you if that's what you want?"

His brows were furrowed" well... Ok. " He says breathing out. " I don't need you to do anything for me. It's fine. I just hope I get a friend out of this?  " He gives me a warm smile.

Woah.. it looks really good on him. When he is not acting all egoistic.

" Of course. " I smile gratefully at him. " thanks for helping me again. "
