Finney was my best friend and I only wanted what was best for him... but when I found out he like her, I was upset. That's a normal emotion to have for your friend right?
It felt normal, to me. Gwen tried to reassure me but it didn't work. It needed to come from finney
Gwen and I were walking to school while finney was walking with robin
Gwen- come on, he doesn't like Shana (idk if that's her name I'm sorry)
Y/n- he does. It's so obvious Gwen
Gwen- I guess he hasn't told you then
Y/n- told me what
Gwen- it's best it comes from him, not me
Once we got to school we went our separate ways. I went to science. Our teacher announced that we were allowed to pick partners.
As I made my way over to finneys desk, Shana got there before me. Bitch. I wanted to cry. My eyes tearing up.
Robin- hey, sit next to me y/n
I gave him a weak smile before sitting next to him
Y/n- thanks
Robin- he didn't tell you yet huh?
Y/n- tell me what?
Robin- it's not my place to say
Y/n- come on, your the second person to do this to me
The class fell silent as the teacher began to teach. I tried to ignore finney and Shana but I could here their giggles and whispers behind me.
I wanted to cry. I liked finney. More than a friend but he would never feel the same. He liked her
I gripped my pencil tightly, attempting to draw my attention away from them. I guess I was really upset, as the pencil snapped in my hands
Small pieces of wood dug into my skin. The teacher noticed and approached my desk
Teacher- oh dear, you better get to the nurse
I grabbed my bag and exited the class.
The nurse took out the pieces of wood and I was free to go. I headed to the canteen for lunch. I sat next to Gwen and robin while finney and Shana sat across from us.
They irritated me the whole time with their laughs
Y/n- oh my god Shana can you get your head out of his ass
Shana- excuse me?
Y/n- you heard me
Finney- what the fuck y/n? What's your problem
Robin- y/n, leave it
Y/n- no, we're all thinking it so someone has to say it
Gwen- you tell him girl
Finney- Gwen!
Gwen- sorry
Y/n- why don't you go back to your other friends Shana
Shana- what's your problem? Do you like finney or something?
I went silent. I didn't know whether to admit it or deny it
Shana- holy shit, you do!?
Finney- what?
Shana- finney likes me though, don't you finney?
Finney- eh what? Yeah?
Shana- see
Tears filled my eyes as I ran out of the canteen.
Finney didn't actually like her. He was confused and didn't understand what was going on. His answer wasn't true. He was still stuck on the fact that y/n liked him
Robin- wow, nice going Finn
Finney- what did I do?
Gwen- she likes you dipshit and you were meant to tell her how you felt! You were meant to tell her last week but you chickened out
Finney- fuck, I forgot
Robin- she's probably at the park, now go
Finney ran from school to the park. I was sitting under a tree and went I saw him, all I wanted to do was hit him
Finney- look, I didn't mean to say yeah. I was too busy thinking about the fact that you might like me
Y/n- I do like you finney
Finney- good cause I like you too, not Shana. Shana was just a distraction. It's you. It's always been you
I jumped into his arms, hugging him tightly.
It never was Shana. It was me. I guess sometimes all you need is a little jealousy
