Me Too

I got a shock when you grabbed me there.
When your friendly gaze turned into a hungry stare.
It was like looking into the eyes of a ravenous bear.
You looked at me as if I were bare.
As if that gave you the right to reach for my wares.
But I could not say I word; I did not dare.

I used to believe that you cared,
But you've betrayed my trust and left me scared.
Did you even notice my dejected glare,
As I walked away and left you there?
On the verge of tears, feeling confused and in despair.
After first laughing it off as if I did not care,
Because I was so completely unprepared.

I miss the laughs we used to share.
But now I feel our friendship is beyond repair.
No apology can fix this tear.
Were you just biding your time all of these years, hoping one day I'd come to you with my clothing scarce?
Men like you should wear a warning sign that says: "Beware."

Now I fuss over the clothes that I wear.
I put on something baggy, unflattering and square.
Making sure to hide my skin so fair,
And leaving not even a shoulder bare,
So that never again will I be looked at like a meat so rare.

Was it your goal to have an illicit affair?
If I told your wife do you think she'd care?
Now I really must clear the air,
And a speech I have prepared,
To confront you with within your lair.
To tell you how you caught me unawares,
And how I will no longer be silent and pretend that I do not care.
For what you did to me was so unfair.
