Night Time

I find it so peaceful,
The calm of night.
When the moon hangs high in the sky,
Shining ever so bright.

I relish the stillness.
No breeze stirs the leaves.
Silently, the stars they glisten and glimmer.
So far above, they twinkle and shimmer.

Humanity is so quiet.
Yet nature she still sings,
In a chorus of chirps, ribbits and hoots.
Ane even a screech or a howl here and there.

The air it has a chill.
A sort of crispness that is unusual for this time of year.
It wraps around me like a damp towel.
A little uncomfortable but not exactly unpleasant.

The moon she bathes the Earth in her ghostly glow.
Her light, is soft and pure white.
She is stunning but alas, also a thief.
For her beauty is not all her own.
Her glorious luminosity is but a gift from the sun.
