Here is some stuff I made up about the universe because if I didn't say this it probably wouldn't make sense.
1. Every character has 2 lives
2. When a character gets splatted they lose a life
3. After they get splatted someone else has 10 minutes to give them a medical shot. Then the person that got splatted will be unconscious for 5 minutes.
4. If they don't get the shot they loose both lives and die permanently unless they have a shot that is super hard to make because the ingredients to make are super rare. If they do get this shot they don't wake up for a day or more.
5. Dark Inklings/Octolings are basically evil and want to take over the world
6. A special shot gives Inklings/Octolings a surge of energy to preform their special and create the gear they need out of ink. After they perform the special they become weak and tired for a few minutes depending on the special.
7. I didn't know what their blood was so I let's just pretend that ink is their blood
