Follow the crew through several alternate universes, their daily adventures in canon, the laughs and the tears- and the times where there's no translation...
In which Lain is starting a new chapter of his life after the end of the tag team tournament, one in which he finds he still has a lot to learn about his beloved mentor, Shu. (Lain is 15 here, likely to be out of character, and I'm using my edited version of his outfit under the coat. Shu x a 15yo surprise Blader, but it is not Lain.) (This isn't a completely linear story, this is just going to be jumping around between a bunch of scenes in my head that take place during different days.)

You: where are you, shu?
I can't help but sigh the moment I send the text, having belatedly realized it sounds harsher than I meant it to. Hoping to sound less annoyed, I add,
You: i haven't seen you around all morning. you're not sick or anything, are you?
Yeah, I think that helped. Or maybe it wasn't even necessary at all and I was just overthinking the initial text. It's possible, considering I'm not at all used to calling Shu, much less texting him.
A text icon with three dots appears, snapping me out of my thoughts and bringing my focus back to what his response my be.
Shu: No, I'm perfectly fine. Just getting some groceries for the week.
Alright, that settles that. He'll most likely be here sometime in the afternoon, then. I start to put my phone away just after deciding this, but it buzzes as it receives another text and I stop to check it.
Shu: Sorry about that, Lain. I meant to let you know this morning, but I was so turned around that I completely forgot about it! D'x I didn't mean to worry you.
Pressing my lips together, I start to write my reply when he sends another of his own.
Shu: *Make you wonder, I mean. Sorry, I shouldn't assume that you were worried, you were probably just curious!
Shu: I probably should assume that, either, though. Ack-
Shu: Anyways!! Since I remember now, I wanted to let you know that I'm going to be shopping for a little bit longer, then I of course have to go back to my apartment to put it all away. Then I have to clean up for some "company" coming over sometime this week, which should take me an hour and a half, give or take?
Shu: You can expect me at HQ sometime around 1pm. :3
I was right about him being here around afternoon, but before I can think of a way to respond he sends something else.
Shu: Oh my gods that was a lot of texts I am so sorry-
I can't help frowning at my phone, somewhat amused but mostly baffled. Shu must be especially flustered if he's rambling on like this, right? Not to mention, I didn't take him for the type to use emoticons, or whatever they're called.
