In which we see Lui Shiroarsagi with a problem similar to Mew Purrenai's, only this one might dragon a bit longer. (Neko Shu AU, now called the Periodic Hybrid AU. Set after Evolution but before Turbo.)

"SO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS TO DEAL WITH THIS CRAP?!"
I slowly move my hands away from my ears and fold my wings back up, glaring at Shu and lashing my tail. "Yeah. Whoopty-damn-doo. Now I have to put up with it, too."
"Sorry, Lui, I just didn't know there were other people who went through periodic animal transformations!"
"Wait, periodic? As in, it will go away in a little bit?"
"Yeah." He nods in confirmation. I sigh in relief, my wings and tail slumping.
"Thank the gods... How long do I have to wait?"
Shu scratches behind his ear, giving it a few flicks afterwards. "A week, so long as you follow most of your instincts."
"What?" I question as I raise an eyebrow.
"Well, the tail and wings will come with a set of instincts. My ears and tail do, too, and the more instincts I act on the sooner my time as cat ends." Shu explains, sitting down on the couch and flicking his tail back and forth. "I have to eat fish, play with cat toys and take catnaps. You'll probably hoard stuff, burn down villages and kidnap maidens."
"So... I just have to act like a dragon?" I hum, receiving a few nods in response. "Okay... I can do that." I'm really glad I saved him from that dog. I would have never figured this out on my own.
"Just be sure you don't let anyone see, okay? Well, Daigo Kurogami can, because he's cool, but anyone else will turn you in to the government and have you dissected." I roll my eyes, shaking my head. He grows a little cat growl, flattening his ears. "It's a legitimate concern!"
"Anyway..." I sigh, lifting one hand. "You can go home now, I've gotten all the info I need. And, uh, from one periodic hybrid to another, thanks."
"Mrrow!" He replies, then his face turns red as I stare at him. "Mrrr... I mean, uh, no problem..." He pushes himself up, beginning to head for the door. As he pulls it open, I think of another question.
"Hey! How will I be able to tell when I'm getting instincts?"
"You'll know, Lui, trust me." He pulls his cap back on and steps outside, shutting the door. I sigh again, lashing my tail.
That's sooo helpful, Shu... I get off the couch, shaking my head and walking to the kitchen. Whatever, I'm getting myself some food. I check the cabinets and the icebox, pawing through it. Hmm... Nothing really looks that good. Do I have anything meaty to eat?...
I find a package full of sandwich meat and take that, shutting the icebox door before I go back into the living room. This'll do for now. I sit back down, turning on the TV and tuning in to a horror movie Joshua was co-starring in. I haven't seen it, but Free told me enough about it. I hope I haven't missed the scene where he dies.
I start eating the meat, my tail swaying back and forth across the carpet slowly. It's not really all that different from normal, and I haven't gotten any instinctual urges yet...
"There's something behind you..." The main character warns Joshua's character, and he slowly turns around to face the killer clown behind him. "Mister Chuckles..."
I snicker, watching as Joshua and the MC begin backing away. "Don't hurt us, please!" Joshua begs, and if I didn't know him I'd say he was good at pretending to be pathetic. I turn up the volume, readjusting to where I lay on my stomach, a cushion tucked under my chest as I watch the movie.
