SONGS OF EXPERIENCE

Haley's fingers drummed anxiously on the arms of the salon chair, the sounds of hairdryers and mindless chatter had her nerves on edge. The bell jangling over the doorway had her glance over in the reflection of the mirror only for her breath to hitch at the sight of the tall, blond man. Heart hammering inside her chest, Haley was frozen, hands clenching around the arms of her chair until the figure finally turned revealing an unfamiliar face.

The Marin girl slumped in relief before lifting her gaze to the girl beside her, her hair back to it's natural ebony waves "Are you okay, sweetie?"

"Y-yeah, I just a little jittery." She inhaled sharply "Too much coffee, not enough sleep."

"I know how you feel." Mona sighed "Every time I close my eyes I'm back in the hole and when I'm awake, I'm back in Rosewood with Alison. I don't know which is worse."

Haley swallowed thickly as he reached over and grabbed the girls hand "I'm not gonna let anything happen to you, okay? No one is going to hurt you ever again."

Mona gave her a wobbly smile as she squeezed her hand before looking over Haley's darkening hair "It's good to have you back."

"You too." Haley murmured with a small smile before caching sight of Mona's mother pretending to read a magazine as she sat by the window "Does she let you go to the bathroom alone yet?"

"Barely." Mona groaned, eyeing her mother "We're sharing a bed in Saratoga but when we come back I wouldn't be surprised if she microchips me with a tracking device."

Haley smiled in amusement before her eyes fell on the front paper of the Rosewood Observer in a customers hands and sighed at the picture of Andrew Campbell "Emily saw Sara last night." Mona turned to her in interest "She just showed at her house. She doesn't think it was Andrew who had us down there."

Mona raised an eyebrow "Do you?"

"I don't know." Haley sighed, slumping back in her chair "I just-- every time we think we have it figured out, it's a setup and then we're right back to square one."

Mona nodded "Are you going back  to school tomorrow?"

"Hanna thinks it's a good idea." She replied unenthusiastically.

"Maybe she's right." Mona shrugged "Maybe it would be good to get some normalcy. Show that Charles didn't take everything away from us."

Haley chewed on the inside of her cheek "Everyone knows Mona, they know about the bridge."

Her eyes widened "Wait, what?"
