FAREWELL MY LOVELY

THERE was a pain in Haley's stomach as nausea churned in her gut, Lucas's words swirling in her mind like a nightmare. She stewed silently, unable to look at anyone as she thought it over while Hanna looked between Lucas, Caleb and Toby as Ezra remained outside on the phone "Are you absolutely sure about this?"

Lucas nodded, eyes sad for Haley's sake knowing just how hard this would be for her "Mona has the game."

"She not only has it, she's accessing the guts of the thing." Caleb added "You can see that by the signals. It's her game."

"Haley," Emily looked to the girl who still hadn't spoke, still hadn't lifted her head "Mona's A.D."

"The good thing is that we know and she doesn't know that we know." Spencer spoke up "I'm just glad you didn't bust in on her."

Caleb sighed "Well, we have to do something. And we should do it now."

Toby looked between them "I talked some old buddies on the force. Tanner's paying a lot of overtime. I thinks she's getting ready to move."

"Well, we need Mona if she's A.D." Spencer declared.

Alison frowned "Why?"

"So she can tell the cops what she's been doing to us."

"She's not doing anything." Haley finally made a sound.

The girls shared a look before Emily sighed "Haley--"

"She's not A.D." Haley cut her off "No way."

Hanna frowned "Why are you so sure?"

"Because she only knows about the game because of you!" She snapped "Because she's not Mary Drake's second child! It's not Mona!"

Spencer sighed "Look,  I know Aria turning on us is hard and you don't want to accept Mona has done it again but she has and we need her to explain to the cops just how we ended up on the road that night with Dunhill. She's our only shot."

Before Haley could argue any further, Ezra returned with a defeated sigh "Aria's still not answering her phone." He looked between them "What I don't understand is how you could do this, just cut her off like that."

Spencer frowned "Okay, Ezra, you have to understand--"

"Understand what, Spencer? That she screwed up? That she got scared and made a mistake?" Ezra scoffed "There isn't a person in this room who hasn't made a big mistake and doesn't have to live with it. Do you know what makes A.D so dangerous? She can't forgive, that is the only edge any of you have ever had over her, and now you don't even have that."

As the Fitz man stormed out the door, Haley grabbed her jacket and began to follow earning a frown from Lucas "Haley--"

"No, just... get Mona and I'll meet you back here." Haley didn't look at them "We'll prove she's not A.D." she ignored any further protest as she slipped on her jacket and moved as fats as she could after her friends husband "Ezra, slow down! I'm carrying another human inside me, you know?"
