Just Friends

Chapter 12

Bethany Point of View:
I cried for what seems like hours until I saw someone I didn't expect to see. I saw Joe. Joe ended up sitting right next to me and holding my hand patiently waiting for me to speak and tell him wait happened. After about 10 minutes, I was crying even more. He then pulled me into his arms and I cried there for about an hour.

"I'm sorry." I whisphered softly in his ear.

"Why are you apologizing? It's not like I made you cry or if you did anything wrong." He said whisphering back into my ear.

"I just felt like I need to apologize to everyone for not knowing who Ezra really is." I said with more tears streaming down my face.

"What do you mean by not knowing who Ezra really is?" He said softly.

"He is a cheater. He was fucking the new girl in a private room at his sisters party." I saidwith even more tears streaming down my face.

"Oh." He exclaimed before grabbing my face and staring me in the eyes. "You're beautiful you know. And you don't need guys like Ezra, who cheat, to make life worst than it already is." He said.

As is last word came out of his mouth, our lips pressed together. He begged for entrance but I wouldn't give in. After a few minutes, he pulled away. He grabbed my hand and we walked to his house. He told me about his life story and how he was adopted.

"I was put into the orphanage when my parents died in a car crash. I was in the back seat of the car when it crashed but I was saved. Someone had taken me out of the car and to the hospital. I had one broken leg. I was 2 when that happened. Then 10 years later I got adopted by this family that I am still with today." He said while walking on his block towards his house.

"I didn't know you were adopted. I'm glad you got adoted by a loving family." I said.

"Yeah. My life could have been different but I am glad too." He said while walking onto the porch of his house.

He opened the door and his mom was in the kitchen and his dad was no where to be found.

"Hey mom!" He says while walking up to his mom. "This is my friend... Bethany."

"Honey, why is she wearing a red dress and why is her makeup running down here face." Mrs. Lopez says looking at me.

"Its a long story." I said, " I was at a party and then I caught my boyfriend cheating on me with another girl, Spencer, and then I ran out to an ally way. That's when Joe found me and we talked and then we came here."

"Oh honey, its okay. You seem really nice and he seems like a big ass fucking joke. He can suck ass. You are always welcomed here." Mrs. Lopez says while hugging me.

"Mom, we are gonna go up to my room and hang out. I wanna get here mind off of Ezra." Joe said while grabbing my hand and dragging me upstairs.

"Okay kiddies, have fun!" Mrs. Lopez says while continuing to do whatever she was doing before we can home.

Joe drags me up to his room. We past his parents room and then his brothers room and then we stopped at his door.

"Please mind the mess. I wasn't expecting visitors." Joe says while twisting the door knob.

I walk inside and see a big bed, a tv, skateboards on the wall, his closet, his bathroom, and his desk. His walls were blue with black and gold designs. His skatwboards are on the wall. His bed was alittle messy and his closet was, too. I sat on the bed and watched as he changed his shirt and his pants. Don't worry he was wearing boxers. Then he walked over to his closet and took out a black t-shirt with the batman logo on the front. Then he gave me some gray sweats. I went to the bathroom and changed out of the dress into the clothes Joe gave me. After I got dressed, I cleaned my face from the washed up makeup and put up my hair into a high pony tail. I walked out of the bathroom and saw Joe laying on his bed with popcorn and candy and scrolling threw Netflix.

"Where did you get this food?" I said while sitting down next to him.

"You see that door over there next to the tv?" He said while point towards the door.

"Yeah" I said.

"Well if you open it, you will see my hidden stash. There is a microwave in there and a miniature fridge and cany everywhere." He said while eating some popcorn.

I walked over to the door. I hesitated to open the door, at first, but then I swung open the door to find exactly what Joe was telling. I saw a microwave, a mini fridge, and candy. I walked in to find loads of different type of candy. I sat down on the floor and closed the door behind me. I just sat down for a few minutes and stared at the candy. After about 10 minutes, Joe opened the door.

"Hurry up. You don't want to miss the new episode of the Fosters, do you?" Joe said while giving me his hand.

I grabbed his hand and we walked over to the bed. The popcorn and candy and soda sat in between us while we were watching the Fosters.

After the Foster's ended, we started talking about school and about skateboarding. We eventually talked about random things untill 1 in the morning. I was too tired to go home, so I decided that I would stay the night. I feel asleep on the bed and Joe felt uncomfortable sleeping in the same bed, so he decided to sleep on the couch. I woke up around 6:30 A.M. and I walked down the stairs to ser Joe still asleep. I walk back in the room. I flopped on the bed and checked my phone. I got 20 messages.
5 from Jack, 5 from Tony, 2 from David, 1 from Hanna, and 7 from Ezra.

Jack:
Hey, what happened?

Why were you crying?

Where are you?

I am worried about you. The party is over and you are no where to be found.

I am staying at Tonys house untill you come back.

Tony:

Beth, where are you? I am so worried about you. You need to come home.

Beth, its 2 in the morning and you are still not home.

Beth?

Beth, please answer me?

I love you Bethany!

David:

I got the bike you took from me. Please come home. Tony and Jack are freaking me out. I am also worried about you.

Where are you?

Hanna:

Girlll, where are you? What happened?

Ezra:

Bethany, I am so fucking sorry. I am so fucking stupid for cheating on you. I was drunk and no knowing what I was doing. Please babe!

Where are you? The party ended over an hour ago and you ard nowhere to be found!

Bethany, no for realz where are you?

Beth, I am not fucking playing where are you?

I am sorry Bethany.

Please forgive me!

I love you Bethany!

I ignored those text messages because I don't want to see any of them, at all, right now. I put down my phone and went back to sleep. I sifted and turned in bed, thinking about Tony, Jack, David, and Ezra. I woke up to Joe playing on the Playstation.

"Your phone kept going off so I put it on silence." Joe said still concentrated on the game he is playing.

"Thanks!" I said while looking at my phone to find 50 missed calls, 70 text messages, and 25 voicemails. They are all from the same people.

"They are worried about you. You should go home or tell them that you are okay. " Joe said.

"Nah. Let them worry. Ezra is bound to tell him what happened soon. Then once he is out of the house I will go home." I said while putting the covers over my face. "I am tired. I am gonna go back to sleep."

Oh okay. Sweet dreams beautiful." Joe said with a smile.

I then fell asleep, once again.
