Flowers of Feelings ( Sunny x Basil )

Sunflower II: A day of regret

Sunny's pov:

Aubrey suddenly spoke as soon as Basil left.

"Guys I know this might seem kinda crazy but, I think Basil might be drunk..."

Hearing that, Mari quickly paused the movie to listen to her.

"What?? Aubrey don't be silly! Basil would never!" Kel said.

"I know, but-"

Kel cut Aubrey off.

"You have nothing to worry about! Basil told me he was sick, he should trust him."

"I mean, it would explain why he's so pale..." Hero added.

"Plus come on Aubrey! You're interrupting the movie!" Kel said while gesturing to the tv.

"Nevermind, I was just thinking.."

Mari was silent as if she wanted to say something, but seeing Kel wanted the movie back on, she unpaused it.

A few minutes later, Basil walked back into the room and laid on top of me.

This time, I could feel his head was really hot, concerningly hot, but I could also feel him shivering.

"Are you sure you want the air up so high?"

"Y-yeah!"

He smiled at me again.

Something about that smile...seems so wrong.

Soon enough the movie was over, and Mari turned off the tv.

She got up and smiled, telling us all to go to the kitchen.

Basil seemed really tired so I didn't bother to try and get him off.

So I carried him to the kitchen.

I placed him down, he almost fell but quickly caught his balance.

Mari opened up the cake box, it was just a normal vanilla cake with white icing, except in red icing it read "Happy birthday Sunny!" Mari and Hero had made the cake themselves.

Mari went over to the counter and grabbed a bag, she pulled out two candles and place them on the cake.

"Oh! Basil, do you have a lighter?" Mari asked.

"Yeah, I'll go g-get it."

Basil left to go to his room, and came back quickly, handing Mari the lighter.

She lit the candles and smiled.

"Okay, let's sing happy birthday!"

As they all sang I just awkwardly stood there, waiting for it to be over.

"Blow out the candles!" Mari said.

And I did as she said.

Once I was done, Kel cheered and Mari pulled me in for a hug.

"Happy 17th birthday Sunny." She said as she pulled away.

"Thanks, guys."

"Can we eat the cake now?" Kel said.

Mari giggled, "Yes Kel."

Mari took the candles off the cake and grabbed a knife.

As she started to cut the cake, Basil started to walk away, I grabbed his arm.

"Basil!" I said, startling him.

"What...?" He mumbled.

"Where are you going?"
