You woke up to a wall of notifications clogging your phone from a pattern of different apps. Majority consisted of the little yellow Snapchat icon. One specific text from your cousin stood out.
Reiner: Since when are you friends with Jaeger??
You didn't even know who the hell "Jaeger" was any better than you knew how to pronounce the name. You made a deal with yourself to at least have a cup of coffee before checking your phone. You rolled out of bed, petting your cat as he jumped down from the mattress and followed you around.
Your bedroom had a private bathroom which always made mornings feel a little easier. Your black kitty rubbed up against your ankles as you brushed your teeth in the bathroom mirror.
"Lawrence." You cooed, kneeling down to give him a soft stroke on the head.
Animals > humans.
You headed down stairs with him in your arms and placed him down once you entered the kitchen. The late morning sun, combined with the smell of the coffee maker and Lawrence by your legs put your mind at ease. If there was a better way to wake up, you hadn't found it yet.
You sat with your coffee at the kitchen island and took a few sips. I'm gonna finish this first, You thought, watching your phone vibrate with another notification.
Nope.
Fuck that, I'm too curious.
You put your mug down and replaced it with your phone, hesitantly sliding the lock screen and starting with your cousin's message first:
Y/n: Who??
He texted you back in minutes:
Reiner: Are you joking? The dude in the video with you.
You arched an eyebrow and read his message once more to make sure you'd seen that correctly.
Y/n: What video...
Reiner: Go on snap
He sent a second text right after:
Reiner: Actually, I don't think you have Marco added. I'll screen record.
Y/n: I'm so lost rn
You exited the chat and went straight to snap where you were met with more messages and about ten new people adding your account. All the names adding you belonged to Historia's friends from last night, and a few who you were assuming you hadn't met. One of them was "Marco" which caught your attention since Reiner had mentioned him in his text.
You added him back along with everyone else and curiously clicked on his story.
That's when you saw it.
You've got to be kidding me...
The camera followed a drunken Eren as he stumbled into you, a few laughs could be heard in the background. You watched your eyes widen, your cheeks inflame. It felt so weird watching this moment over from another perspective besides your own. When Eren let go of the car and put his full weight on you, your eyes dashed to Historia and the video ended.
You slid open one of the blue messages, it belonged to your friend Hitch with Marco's story hovering just above her text.
Hitch: I have so many questions...
Y/n: Yeah... so do I.
You swipe out of snap and head back over to iMessage. Your cousin had sent a screen recording of the video.
Reiner: This one
Y/n: Just saw it on snap
Reiner: Lmao dude your face is priceless. You look scared 💀
