"Oh shit it went in?!" you exclaimed. You and Historia high-fived and she stuck her tongue out at Reiner and Jean across the table. "We win!"

"Nah hold on re-match!" said Reiner.

"Boo you suck, pass the blunt already," Historia sashayed to the other end of the beer pong table and plucked the blunt from Jean's fingers. She blew the smoke back in his face. "Our prize."

"Keep it, now that your dirty mouth's been all over it," he added in anticipation for her reaction. Right on cue, the blond kicked him in the shin and Jean stepped backward, laughing.

"You're the dirtiest in the whole group," she said.

"That's a reach. Yn don't listen to her."

"No listen to me. He'll fuck anything."

You giggled at the pair and glanced at Reiner, shaking his head. "They're all dirty."

"Don't lump me in!" said Historia. She moved to your side and shared the blunt.

"I saw Annie talking to Armin, by the way. I think our stupid dance worked," she said.

You coughed out the smoke mid laugh. "Really?"

"Yup. Look at us, matchmakers. If only we could do this for ourselves."

You looked down and lightly nudged her with your arm, "tell him," you mumbled.

Her face flared red and she looked at you long and deep, as if to communicate telepathically. You gave her the faintest grin, she knew you knew, there was no use in trying to hide it now. "... I can't."

The two of you peered forward at the pool, voices hushed.

"Why not?" you asked.

"It's stupid." Historia pursed her lips and shook her head. "I'll get over it."

I should let it go... But I want her to be happy. The last few guys she dated were either players or simply couldn't hold her attention. You saw the way she was with Eren, it was different with him.

"You guys would be kinda perfect. You're so much alike," you said casually.

"Me and that dumbass?"

"Yes, you're both outgoing and you fight like a married couple. Why not just go for it?"

"It's not that easy." she debated on leaving it at that but continued.

"He's like... I don't know how to describe it. I never really know what's going on in his head." She watched your eyebrow arch and tried to elaborate. "He's different... He doesn't—whatever. I don't get him," she deflated. "He's in his own little world."

"Join his little world," you joked and Historia snorted.

"He's gotta join mine first... Knowing him, that's not gonna happen."
