Louis

The whole time I've been sitting at one of the tables; not bothering to socialize or dance or anything. Just a few moments ago, I saw Emma running towards the bathroom with her hands over her eyes. I heard a few sobs come out of her mouth, and she just seemed really upset.

Although, I knew there was nothing that I could really do about it. I sighed, slumping in my chair and picking my phone back up. I looked up to see Niall running towards me with Nina at his side, and by the time they reached me, they both seemed out of breath.

“Niall, Nina?” I spoke up, raising an eyebrow at the two of them. They both exchanged glances, then turned to look back at me. “What’s wrong?”

Nina took a deep breath, shutting her eyes for a second. “It’s Emma,” she began, and Niall gave her hand a squeeze when he noticed she was nervous. “She ran off crying to the bathroom. Drake stood her up.”

I was surprised, but at the same time, I wasn’t. I knew that guy was a heartless jerk, and I also knew that Emma wasn’t right for him. I tugged on some strands of my hair in frustration, and I could feel anger boiling up inside me.

“Louis?” Niall snapped me out of my thoughts.

“Hmm?”

“Are you okay? You sort of zoned out,” he explained. “What’s on your mind?”

I sighed. “Emma. I need to talk to her.”

I stood up, but before I could go anywhere, Nina grabbed my arm and pulled me back to face her. I was confused since she was insisting on getting me to go and talk to her, and now she was preventing me from doing so.

“What?”

“She’s in the restroom.” She told me.

“So?”

“The girl’s restroom. You’re a boy.” Nina went on, and I looked to the floor. Right now, all I cared about was being there for Emma. Getting humiliated for being in the girl’s room wasn’t the main thing on my mind right now.

“I don’t care. I’m already known as the weird kid anyways.” I bit my lip, running towards the bathroom. I waited outside the door, leaning against the wall before I was going to head inside. I heard Emma crying from outside the bathroom, and it wasn’t just sobbing anymore. She was full on crying, and she sounded miserable.

Without looking back, I ran in the bathroom in hopes no one would see me. But, if someone were to, I don’t really care right now. I finally figured out what stall Emma was in, and I felt my heart pounding in my chest as I knocked quietly on the door.

She didn’t say anything.

I knocked a little harder, and she stopped crying for a few seconds in awkwardness. Then, she went right back to crying again. She acted like she didn’t hear me knocking, and I know she could hear me. Although, I’m not sure if she knew it was me who was standing outside the door.

“Emma, can we talk? It’s just me, Louis.” I told her through the stall door, leaning against it. She still continued to sob, and each one just seemed sadder and sadder. It really pained me to hear everything. She was heartbroken, and I didn’t like it.
