Numb

Numb. It's been weeks and I still felt so. Fucking. Numb.

I couldn't feel myself. I couldn't feel my body. I was so numb, both physically and mentally. I couldn't move, my mind was blank. Nothing. I was empty. I wanted to feel. To feel something - anything! Anger, sadness, happiness, frustration, guilt, anything. But I couldn't. There was nothing there for me to feel. And I was so desperately hoping to feel an emotion but I couldn't help but be emotionless. I was hollowed out from the inside, retract from my right to feel something.

I felt as if I had finally let my demons win. The darkness had finally taken over. The little light in my life had finally disappeared. The small light that light my dark and gloomy life was gone and I was left in utter darkness.

Why?

Why was it always me? What did I do in my life - in my past life - to deserve such pain. Why is it whenever I get close, it leaves me weak and valuable in the end? Why wasn't me who died? Why do I have to live a life of pain? Why did it happen when I was slowly letting my walls fall? WHY!?! FUCKING WHY!?!

... why?

"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR VALENTINO!" I yelled, my fist showering onto the thick wooden door

"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR VALENTINO!" I yelled, my fist showering onto the thick wooden door. "I KNOW YOU'RE FUCKING IN THERE! DON'T FUCKING HIDE COWARD!"

Alice. She was in there and I needed to see her. It's been months. I need to know she's alright. I need to see her. I need to hear her.

She didn't show up to school for a week. I didn't think anything of it but that she was just skipping.

She didn't show up for two weeks and I started to get suspicious.

She didn't show up for three weeks. I had my men to start to look into the matter.

She didn't show up for a month and I knew something was definitely fucking wrong.

A month later, I had been searching everywhere. No where in the fucking world was there not a single person searching. Every ally I had I had looking. That was until I found something.

"Valentino's daughter have been found. One dead. One alive."

One dead, only one alive.

I needed to know if she was alright. I couldn't take it anymore. I waited one more painful month, hoping for to come back. But she didn't.

"Go away Romano!" Someone yelled from the other side of the door.

"Open the damn door or I swear to the love of god that-" I was cut short when the door suddenly opened, halting my fist from punching it.

"Go the hell away now, Roman! You are unwanted on these grounds and are trespassing on my property and-" I ignored the old Valentino man and ran straight pass him and up the staircase right in front of me as soon as I enter.

People are shouting behind me, telling (more like demanding me) to stop, though words fall on deaths ears as I completely disregard their commands.

Sprinting down hall after hall,I finally come to a halt in my steps, my breathing slightly laboured, my eyes scan the names along the doors. How fucking dumb are they? Are they actually fucking suicidal? If anyone were to break in they know where and who exactly their going for! Making Alice more unsafe being by the second.

Alice...

My eyes quickly scan the doors reading the Golden name tags on them as I go... Matteo, Theo, Diego, Enzo and ... My breathe hitches in my throat as my eyes settle on the door that leads straight to her. Alice.

Not wasting a second, I take quick long strides straight to her door. I could hear the faint thundering footsteps of elephants coming from behind me. I needed to be quick.

My hand rested on the cold, metal door nob and without a second thought I opened the door.

The room was dark. Very, very, dark. I could barely make out my hands in-front of me, let alone two steps ahead.

I shut the door behind and flicked on the lights, my eyes widened in pure shock at the state of the room. Papers layer scattered on the floor, glass smashed on the floor boards, blood was splatter along the walls and floor. The bed was messy, sheets untucked, pillows and blankets scattered somewhere around the room. But the one thing that lay in the middle of it all was ... Alice.
