A Letter from Dr. White

Dear Reader,

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree: a saying I've always interpreted rather conventionally. An apple tree won't produce oranges, or bananas, or peaches. An apple that does fall from its tree has no fundamental difference from the apple that clings on a bit longer. The tree is a family, the roots driving its members together no matter the distance.

Time, however, is the world's best teacher, followed closely by this work's writer. We are all intertwined in our roots, for each tree is sprouted from the same soil. We cannot escape human connections. An apple is related to a banana, an orange, a peach. We simply must break ground to those connections. I live on in hope we can all do that, and love each other in the way we deserve.

With Best Regards,

~Richard S. White
