"Hey Aaron, you know what I can not stand," I say as I walk in through the back door, "When I text you to come to pick me up, and you don't!" I yell at him. I texted him and asked him to pick me up from the beach, because well I didn't exactly feel like walking.

"You texted me?" he asks as he looks up from his bowl of cereal even though it's noon.

"Yes, dummy," I say and roll my eyes. I walk up the stairs and get a text from Mia asking if we're still on for the mall later. I text back and she says she'll pick me up at 1.

I only have an hour to get ready and mentally prepare myself for socializing with real human beings again. I take a 30-minute power nap, when I wake up I brush a comb through my hair and pack my tote bag with a few essentials for the shopping trip.

Mia picks me up right at 1, always the punctual one, in her white jeep and I jump into the passenger's side, "Hey!"

"Hey, cute top. I'm gonna steal that from you one of these days," she says and pulls out of the driveway, "So how was training? Did you and Satan talk?"

"Oh yes, we talked," I say quietly.

I haven't exactly thought much about the whole training situation, mostly because I'm avoiding it, "Uh oh, that doesn't sound good," Mia says side glancing at me.

I sigh, "It wasn't necessarily, bad, it was...weird. Like all of it was weird. When I first got there I started talking to Dylan and he was just death staring me from across the room. It felt like he was trying to blow me up with his beady little eyes. Then when we got to training, he was all smug about beating me which was the most normal part of the day," I explain, "When Wes made us do the CPR training, he and I were the last ones left out of everyone-"

  "Oh my god, you're kidding?"

"Wish I was," I mumble, "And when we were doing the CPR his hands drifted a little too close to my..."

"Boobs?" Mia says looking at me pointedly.

"It's a weird word, cut me some slack," she giggles, "Anyways, it was all just uncomfortable? I feel like there's a better word for what it felt like."

  "Cloudy?" she suggests.

"Yeah, maybe," I say agreeing with her.

He was just so weird. Not his usual snarkiness like he always has. I mean yes we argued a bit, but at a very minimal amount. There was no throwing sand at me, no pulling at my ponytail until it felt like my hair was gonna fall out and no killing any more of my pets. Thankfully. But still, I just don't know exactly how to feel. I've seen him for two days in a row and feel like I'm going to have a mental breakdown any second.

I shake my head, "I don't know maybe he just had an off day," I say finally.

"Mhm, or you guys have tension," Mia says as we pull into the mall parking lot.
