So in my class we're currently doing lots of poem analysis and since im here after so long i thought might as well give poetry a shot yk. Might as well. Also anyone else thinks taylor swift's olderp songs make a great poem? All too well, cardigan or august etc. Great lyrics worthy of shakespeare.
First poem:
Growing up.
Im growing up.
Things are not what they used to be.
I stand by the wall every month,
Watching the marks by my head
being drawn higher and higher.
I'm growing up.
The words exchanged online increase,
Yet I barely speak to anyone anymore.
I'm growing up.
My knowledge grows,
And so does my fear.
I'm growing up.
Candy was given to me,
Now I pass the candy down.
Everything is different.
I'm growing up.
I don't like it,
But I'd rather not stop the clock.
K that was about growing up duhh.

Rectangular pieces
Made of paper,
I hold them near.
Keeping me company,
To me, they're so dear.
I need these pieces,
They provide me a grin.
Yet they're so filthy,
It feels like a sin.
They're not fully permanent,
They come and they go.
I can try to hold on,
But I must go with the flow.
To show-off to friends,
To survive in this world.
They've been through everywhere,
Though don't care if they'd curled.
How hard I'd've worked,
It will not matter.
For no amount I earn,
Will my wallet get fatter.
