Chapter 15: Surprise Guest

Matapos kong magbihis at mag-ayos ay pumunta na ako sa location, na sinend sa akin ni Ms. Meara, kung saan gaganapin ang photoshoot. I can feel the excitement rising in my body habang papalapit nang papalapit ang sasakyan sa setting ng event. Sa sobrang excited ko, I didn't even bother to give an excuse letter sa professor ko and I even wore a dress and put a light makeup on my face which I don't normally do but as they say, first impression lasts.

Nang huminto ang sasakyan ay nagmamadali akong bumaba at lakad-takbong pumunta sa area, without my smile leaving my face. Kaagad naman akong nakita ni Ms. Meara na siyang kumaway sa akin. Lumapit naman ako rito at binigyan ito ng isang yakap.

"Oh my, Elodie. You look gorgeous!" nakangiting puri ni Ms. Meara.

I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear, "Salamat po."

Then a man carrying a camera approached us with a wide grin, "Ito ba ang alaga mo, Ms. Beaufoy?"

Galak namang tumango si Ms. Meara bilang sagot. Humarap naman sa akin ang photographer at inilahad ang kan'yang kamay na siyang tinanggap ko.

"It's a pleasure to meet a lovely lady like you, Ms. Laurent. Tama nga ang sinabi ni Ms. Beaufoy, you are very much a ten," sabi nito.

"It's nice to meet you rin po and thank you so much," sagot ko naman.

"Well Elodie, as much as I would like to introduce you to the other staffs, kailangan mo nang mag-ayos para ang partner mo na lang ang iintindihin natin,' sambit ni Ms. Meara na ikinakunot ng aking noo.

"Partner?" tanong ko. Wala kasi siyang nabanggit sa akin kanina about partners. Ang sabi niya lang ay may photoshoot ako ngayon.

"Oh I'm sorry, I forgot to tell you. The theme of the photoshoot is 'A Perfect Date' so it is needed for you to have a partner," paliwanag nito, "But don't worry, Elodie. I made sure na matino ang magiging partner mo, I think you will have a great chemistry!"

Binigyan ko lamang siya ng ngiti at dumiretso na sa dressing room kung saan nandoon ang in charge sa hair and makeup ko. I sat on one of the chairs as she started putting chemicals on my face. I took a deep breath, hoping na magiging successful ang una kong photoshoot.

After a while, natapos na rin ang pag-aayos sa akin. When I looked at my reflection in the mirror, I almost dropped my jaw. It's like there is a whole new person in front of me. My shoulder-length hair was curled into beach waves na saktong-sakto sa face shape ko. Ang light eyeshadow naman na inilagay sa akin made my amber eyes pop out. Seriously? I can look like this?

"Grabe ka Ms. Laurent, inangkin mo yata lahat ng ganda sa mundo," nakangiting sabi ng makeup artist.

I chuckled, "Thank you pero hindi mailalabas ang ganda ko kung hindi dahil sa'yo. You did a great job."

Ngumiti naman ito sa akin at iniabot na ang damit na hinanda ng team para sa akin. I made my way into the dressing room and put on the sleeveless, flowy, white dress na abot hanggang binti. I'm not even kidding when I say that I look and feel like a princess in it.

Matapos magbihis ay lumabas na ako papunta sa lugar kung saan naka-set na ang mga equipment for the shoot. The team decided that the setting would be a place beside the sea. I didn't really had the time to admire the view earlier but now, I can see why this is considered a perfect date. Imagine seeing the line where the sky and the sea meet while spending time on dinner with your loved one. It's beautiful isn't it?

Now I'm glad to experience this kind of date.

"Elodie, you can spend your time walking around since wala pa ang partner mo. Don't worry, we'll start at sunset naman eh," saad ni Ms. Meara. Tumango naman ako rito at sinunod siya.
