"Y/n, have you found your peculiarity yet?" I hear Horace ask. His panicked demeanor from earlier seemed to fade as me and him spoke.

"No, I haven't." I say with a lopsided grin and he smiles.

"You'll find it eventually." He says and begins telling me stories about some of the other peculiar finding theirs. Eventually Hugh needed him so he left leaving me. I smile watching the children but my mind drifts back to Alma. Was she alright? Maybe I should go check on her, it has been a while. I walk towards the home and peek into the kitchen seeing that she's not there no more. I frown but when I see some of the plates in the sink from breakfast, I decided to busy myself and wash them. I was about halfway done when suddenly I felt someone tap my shoulder. I jump for a moment before I turn, facing a boy who had short black hair and seemed awfully similar to Bronwyn out of all the children. Was he lost? He stood by my side looking at me with a smile as I look at him with a warm smile.

"Hello, I'm Victor." He says politely and I smile at his kind voice.

"Hello Victor, are you lost?" I ask and he shakes his head. "Do you know about this place?" I ask curious but not wanting to be pushy. He nods with a smile and I raise an eyebrow.

"I've been here for a while." He says simply and confusion rakes through me. How come I've never seen him here?

"Really now? I never heard of a Victor here. Are you sure you're in the right loop?" I ask and he nods. I decide to let it slide as his kind eyes meet mine.

"You must be Miss y/l/n." He says and I chuckle a little.

"No need to be formal, just call me y/n." I say and he gives me a soft smile before continueing.

"You and Miss Peregrine fancy each other, hmm?" He asks with a grin and I feel myself blush a little as I nod. "I'm happy that you've helped her."

"Helped her?" I ask confused and he nods.

"She's been very upset for so long and it's great to see her finally happy again. You've made her her old self again and I couldn't thank you enough." My heart warmed at his words but a part of me was still confused. Why was she upset for so long?

"I know you're confused, but it will all make sense soon." He assure and despite confusion I smile at him with a nod. "Tell her that I said hello and that I'm very proud of her. She was like a mother to me." He adds and I could feel a bit of sadness wash off him but he quickly gave me a smile as he looked back up at me. "I'm very happy she met you, y/n." He says and I see him walk out the door and still confused, I shook my head slightly with a confused grin before continueing to the dishes.

"Love, who were you talking to?"

My gaze from the sink goes over to Alma who stood by the doorway, confusion drifted across her features and I noticed a skeptical look on her face.

"A boy who came in. His name was Victor. I'm surprised I haven't met him yet, is he new?" She ignores the question as her gaze turns confused and shocked. I ignored it for a moment as I continued. "He wanted me to tell you he said hello and is very proud of you. That you were like a mother to him." I say but the warm smile on my face goes down when I see the look on her face. She leaned against the doorway in shock and I stopped the dish water, and dried the last plate in my hands. "Are you alright?"

"Y/n," she says her voice shaky and I cast her a confused glance before she speaks. "Victor is dead."
