She's mad at me and I know it. I knew I shouldn't have listened to him, I should have known. I sigh as I decide it might be best to leave her be. I stand to head outside with the others and just when this day seemed it couldn't get worse, I open the door to see the children running back in and my father standing in the doorway.

"What do you want?" I ask angry and he smiles.

"I see Miss Peregrine left." He says slyly and I glance over to the children that gave me worried glances. I look back towards him as he grabs me by the arm.

"Either come with me or the children get involved." He says and I give him a glare as to not hurt them. I look back to the others, panic and confusion spreading through them as I clear my throat to speak.

"Children, go upstairs and wait for Miss Peregrine to return." I say as I give them a warning look to listen.

"But what about-" Millard begins but I shake my head, cutting him off.

"Go upstairs." I say firmly and they listen, hesitating at first. I look back over at my father with an angry look as he smiles before dragging me out, shutting the door behind us.

•••Almas POV•••

I shouldn't be upset with her, I don't know why I'm upset. It was unexpected yes, but I finally got to say goodbye to Victor. I was still in bird form as I sat on one of the branches, trying to regain my thinking. Why did I have to do that? I think of the hurt look she had when I left and it made my chest hurt from guilt. I need to return.

As I was flying, fear creeped into me and I was uncertain why. Y/n was there with the others, everything is alright. I flew faster though despite the thought and eventually make my way to the home. I shift back as I land near the door and open it without knocking. Emma ran down the steps, her metal boots thumping as she does followed by the others who had tears in their eyes.

"Miss Bloom, what's going on?" I ask confused on why everyone seemed to be in a hurry. She landed in my arms as tears fell and I knew something bad has happened. "Emma?" She goes out of my arms and I place my hands on her shoulders as she faces me.

"Y/ns, father returned and took her. She had no choice but to go to keep is safe." She says as she stumbles for words and I feel my guilt rising along with panic. If I was here, we could have avoided it. It hurt to know I messed up again and I knew this time it would end the same if we didn't hurry. I quickly brush a tear off her cheek as I give her an assuring look.

"I will get her back, I promise. To do so, I need the older ones to be in charge as I don't want any of you getting hurt." I say as I let go of Emma and face everyone. "I will be leaving Miss Bloom and Olive along with Horace and Enoch in charge." I then look towards Jacob and he seems to already know what I'm about to ask. "Mr Portman, if you wouldn't mind I will need your help as you can see hollows. I'm not sure if we will encounter any on the way so it would be best to have someone keep watch." He nods and goes towards the door as I finish. "Everyone stay here, lock the doors and do not open it to anyone. I have the spare key. Please stay safe." I say and they nod as Jacob and I leave the home. I carried the crossbow in my hand and Jacob kept a keen watch for anything suspicious. I look ahead as I know we would have to be back for reset, whether we had y/n or not.

I hope we do.
