•••y/n POV•••

"Children, head upstairs to bed. I will do reset myself tonight. I will be up shortly to tuck you all in." Alma says as she carries me to the living room and I struggle to keep myself awake. Hours and hours of fighting with him. I tense at the memory of him walking in with a gun and the searing pain I felt. It wasn't as bad right now as it was before. She sits me down on the couch and starts immediately tending to the bullet wounds.

"Thank goodness, it seems it only grazed your arm. Your ankle though speaks different." She says as she bandages my arm, being gentle not to make the pain worse. "I worried about you so much and I can't thank the birds enough you're safe." She says as she works on bandaging the wounds.

"I understand if you're upset, but couldn't let him take the others, I'm sorry." I say as I thought she was still a bit mad at me from earlier. She finished wrapping the bandage around my arm before raising an eyebrow as she sat on her heels to bandage my ankle.

"I am upset," she starts. "But not at any of you." She says and I feel relief spread through me. "I want to thank you for what you done earlier." She starts wrapping the bandage around my ankle and she looks intently down at it as she speaks. "I didn't mean to get upset, it was just a shock at first."

"It's alright, I understand." I assure her with a small smile and she glances up at me with a small one of her own before back at the bandage. When she finishes, she washes some of the blood (some her own because of a few small scrapes) and said she would be right back after she did reset and for me not to go anywhere. As if I can.

•••After Reset•••

"Is everyone else alright?" I ask as soon as she walks in and she raises an eyebrow as she stands by the doorway.

"Yes, why?" She asks confused and I feel a pang of relief knowing my father didn't capture or harm any of them.

"I was just worried." I say with a sigh and she comes in taking a seat beside me on the couch. There was a moment of silence as she looked down, deep in thought before glancing up at me, hurt shown in her eyes and I thought she was upset with me for a moment.

"Y/n, what happened?" She asks and I can hear her voice breaking slightly.

"It's alright. I don't want to talk about it. I'm back here now and that's all that matters." I say, but then a thought crosses my mind. "But if you don't mind me asking-"

"I never would mind." She says, but instead of in a joking matter she says it firmly.

"Is he..." I trail off unable to say it as I feel my eyes prick with tears and she gives me a worried yet nervous look and I knew she meant yes. She moved towards me as I let out a small breathless laugh as I quickly wipe away a tear that fell. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I'm upset. I shouldn't be." I say with a sad smile, but she ignores me as she takes me in her arms rubbing my back assuringly.

"It's alright, little bird." She says, her voice gentle and soft. "Everything is okay, I promise."
