"It's been a long time, 2nd Lt. although it's a bit late, congratulations on your promotion." Tanya said with a smile while I clapped and said "Congrats!"

"Thank you, Captains." Viktoriya said with a smile

"So you're our adjutant?" I asked

"Yes." Viktoriya said with a smile

Tanya cleared her throat and then said "Now, 2nd Lt. sorry, but I need you to go to the guard commander and tell him that I need to borrow some MP." Tanya said

"Understood, Captain. How many should I request from the Military Police Headquarters?"

"Anyone who's free at the moment will do but tell them that I want a dozen if possible." Tanya said

"Understood, I'll tell them right now." Viktoriya said as she went to get us some help leaving only Tanya and I behind

I looked over at Tanya who was sitting on her desk and said "That's a lot of applications, alright."

"Even so, we still have to deal with these mountains of applications." Tanya said as she grabbed some of the application forms as I went to grab some as well

"It's a lot of effort to check through so many applicants. Majority of the applicants hail from the Southern and Eastern fronts but why are there mages from the Northern and Western fronts applying as well?..." I said as I was shuffling through applications

"Don't recruit those from the Northern and Western. We're trying to balance things out for other regional armies who aren't getting any work." Tanya said making me nod as I threw the forms back on the table and sighed

"It seems that they have made some mistakes in the paperwork." Tanya said

"How about rejecting them all through bureaucratic procedures and recruiting some again?" I asked

Tanya contemplated for a minute and then said as she got up from her desk "We'll recruit the cream of the crop and train them to be a force to be reckoned with. Let's head to Brigadier General Zettour's office right away."

"That's a plan someone who's desperate would come up with." I said with a giggle

"If that's what I have to do for us to survive then so be it." Tanya said

"Then I'll follow you. For where you go, I go." I said hugging my sister from behind

"How did I get so lucky to have a sister like you?" Tanya said rhetorically

We stood there for a while in silence until I said "So... What should we do about our training regime? I mean, it's already obvious that we're going to recruit the best of the best from the applicants. So, what should we do?"

"We'll discuss that when we already have recruits to train." Tanya said as she messed up my hat making me huff

As we sat behind an optical illusion spell. Tanya, Viktoriya and I as well as another soldier who was responsible for the illusion sat on the left side of the room while General Zettour and the Eastern Army Staff Officers sat on the right side of the room, as we watch as candidates get fooled by the illusion. 1 candidate was up close, face to face with the illusion but still couldn't notice the trick

As that candidate left the room, the spell was dropped and we can see the eastern army officers salty as hell

To give you context on why the eastern army officers were here is because during the elite unit's selection process the eastern army suffered almost complete annihilation

"Hurling, inept, lazy, arrogant, clueless, imbecile, inattentive, unobservant, the worst wage thieves." -Tanya Von Degurechaff. Tanya wrote that after a lot of interviews from the eastern soldiers using the optical illusion spell

And me concluding it with "Acknowedging complete reeducation of mages in the Eastern Army." making the eastern army officers angry

Now that your caught up. Right now, I'm letting Tanya do all the talking while I listened about what they are talking

Basically them going back and forth about the high requirments

In the end they came to an agreement with Tanya and I getting to have full control on the soldiers training in exchange for lowering the requirments to join

With General Zettour's words "I don't care how you do it. Retrain them, even if you need to be a "bit rough"."

Now for those who don't know what that means, it means do whatever you want as long as you don't kill them

And with that out of the way, we spent the night at our apartment, discussing about training and what not to the point of going to bed in the early hours of the morning
