Nandini's pov
I love my life, I have two best friends and well three best friends and an enemy yup. Life is amazing until it throws a curve freaking ball right in your face and then you regret half if not all the things you have said to your enemy/boss.
Yup it is my god damn luck that my boss is my enemy and to add the cherry to the top, my best friends are also my boss's best friends. Oh and if you think this is it well it is not, my boss is a literal freaking monster, he makes me want to rip my hair strands out.
The worst part is no one else sees him as a monster, I mean not as big of a monster as I see him. It's not like he is abusive but the way he talks and the stupid punishments of his makes me wanna punch him in his god damn handsome face.
What? He is handsome but that beauty has no work cause his mouth has no control. I swear sometimes I wanna tell him off and just walk out but dang I can't because I sighed a contract with this company, his company for the first 5 years of employment and it has only been 7 months.
"Nandini in my cabin now" here comes the boss's call
"Be right there" I replied on the intercom
I grabbed the file I had been working on and made my way into his cabin, I knocked and hearing a come in I pushed the door open to see my best friend cabir sitting in there
"Sup my man" I said seeing him
"Nandini do I have to remind you to be professional in this office"
"Sorry" I mummbled looking down
"Manik chill a bit in life, hey nandu how is your day going" cabir asked
"It's going, yours?"
"Its good so far, its about to get better" he said
"What makes you say that" I asked
"Well you see we are having a party tonight and no not a personal one, I mean professional office party and you are coming which means my girlfriend and your other best friend is coming too" he said
"Whatever" I mummbled sitting down beside him
"Manik here is the file I did finish it but I can't figure out the fourth page, second paragraph wording it had a lot of jargan" I said handing him the file
"It's fine ill look at it, but other pages better not have any mistakes"
"Humans make mistake Manik" I said
"I don't pay you to make mistakes Nandini" he said
"Manik"
"It's mr Malhotra" he said and I rolled my eyes
"Manik, I didn't make any mistakes but sometimes things slip out of my head and mistakes happen so if that happened then I apologize" I said calmly
"Like I said there better not be any mistakes or"
"Or what huh, you will fire me. Do it." I said and cabir chuckled
"You are fired" he said and I smiled
"Oh you wish should I remind you mr Malhotra about the contract you made me sign, 5 years Manik" I said smirking
"Cabir get the fuck out of my office" Manik roared scaring me a little
"Oh don't yell at me, Nandini darling don't instigate him"
"You are supposed to be my best friend, not his" I said
"Enough, both of you out and be on time at the party. Get out" Manik said and I frowned
"Get out" I mimicked him while walking away
"I heard that nandini" he siad and I ran out with cabir laughing behind me
"Stop laughing" I said smacking him
"Why do you do this with him" he asked laughing
"I did it, dude he clearly is the one at fault. He yells at me for no fault of mine. I am not. Robot and for god sake robots make mistakes too so what am I supposed to do, its not like I am doing it on purpose" I ranted pacing around in my cabin
"Nandini calm down girl, he isn't doing it on purpose. You know he has a soft corner for you"
"Ya of course he does that why he calls me at 3 am to fix a mistake right, I wonder what kind of soft corner that is"
"3 am" he asked
"Ya, a couple weeks ago he woke me up from a beautiful sexy dream and I thought he was in trouble like you know serious trouble but no. 'miss nandini you missed the last digit and this is all wrong, I need this file in 2 days so fix it now' that's what he said" cabir laughed hearing this
"Its not funny cabir"
"It is, he could have just walked down to your apartment but he chose to call wow"
"Are you kidding me? Just because he lives in our apartment complex doesn't mean he can come to my house"
"Nandini it's his apartment complex"
"Cabir you are not my friend, I am telling navya"
"Do it" he said
He walked over to me and kissed my head, he is a protective older brother for me but he takes Manik's side all the time which is fair cause he has grown up with Manik .
"Im not letting you off the hook" I said and he chuckled
"I know, it's fine but you do know he isn't wrong, he called because he needed to talk to you, yes he should have not called at 3 am but it is in the contract isn't it"
"It is" I said looking down
The contract clearly states as his pa he can call me and get to me at any point of the day, and to make this possible all of his close employees which include cabir, navya, arun and I, we all live in an apartment complex together which is provided by him
"Then what is it, why are you so upset" he asked
"Im just irritated okay, it's pissing me off"
"What exactly"
"He can be nice right but he chooses to be rude and yell at me which is not fair at all. I do everything he asks, I put in more than 100% and he always doubts me"
"He doesn't Nandini"
"Of course you say that, he is your friend"
"He is my best friend, correction" he said making me laugh
"Cabirrr" I laughed with him
"Go home and get changed cause if you are late that idiot will lose his shit again"
"See you admit he always loses his shit"
"Nandini in my cabin" we both heard manik's voice from he intercom
"On my way" I said quickly and cabir laughed
"Shut up" I mumbled running to manik's cabin again
"Manik" I said entering without knocking
"Are you okay" he asked seeing me huffing because I am unfit haha
"Ya, what can I do for you" I asked
"You might be out a little later than usual, I hope that's okay with you"
"Ya sounds good, anything else"
"No, that's all" he said and I nodded
"Is it okay if I go home now, it's 4 and"
"Ya go, you don't have to explain. Don't be late" he said inturpting me
I nodded and went to my cabin to grab my bag and walked to my apartment which is like a 5 minute walk
