INT. CARTER HOUSE - HALLWAY/FRONT DOOR- NIGHT

Morgan and Neal are at the front door kissing.

MORGAN- (smiling) Neal come on I really have to go. And if your parents wake up.

NEAL- (smirks) I'm sure they will be proud of their son.

Morgan laughs.

MORGAN- I'm serious I really have to go.

Neal kisses her.

NEAL- It's fine because this time tomorrow we'll be in Texas.

MORGAN-(kisses him) alone in a hotel room.

Neal rushes to open the door.

NEAL- you know what you're right you gotta go.

MORGAN- (laughing) What?

NEAL- The faster I go to sleep and wake up we'll be in Texas.

Morgan grabs his face.

MORGAN- You're such a nerd.

Neal smiles.

MORGAN- I'll see you tomorrow.

Morgan leaves. And Tammie comes downstairs.

TAMMIE- Neal what the hell are you doing?

NEAL- (nervous) who me? Oh I came downstairs to get something to drink and wanted to make sure the door was locked.

TAMMIE- boy I thought I heard something or someone down here and needed to get my gun.

NEAL-you have a gun?

TAMMIE- Do you see where we live why wouldn't I have a gun?

Neal nods his heads.

NEAL- fair.

TAMMIE- now get some rest you have a long day tomorrow .

NEAL- I'm actually about to head to Kent's house to spend the night and leave from there.

TAMMIE- this late?

NEAL- Yeah Dad already said it was okay.

Tammie sighs and walks over to Neal.

TAMMIE- Neal please be safe in Texas. Stay with Deandre,  your team and your um....stay with your brother.

Neal looks at her confused.

NEAL- now you acknowledge that he's my brother?

TAMMIE- I'm serious. Be safe. That team y'all are playing against they get dirty. I've always kept you a bit sheltered from the world....I just want you to be prepared for things to be different down there okay?

NEAL- It's just a basketball game.

TAMMIE- did you hear what I said?

NEAL- Yes.

TAMMIE- and Neal call me if anything happens I mean anything. Okay. I love you.

She hugs him.

NEAL- why are you acting like you're sending me off to war?

TAMMIE- I played in that same arena and that same school  in high school. They don't play fair you don't get calls. The atmosphere can be very intimidating. It's going to be one of the biggest games you'll ever play. I wasn't strong enough mentally to do it.
