i put my phone in my pocket, a bit flustered from billie's comment. i checked my hair in the mirror before i grabbed my keys, wallet, and my guitar.

on my way out, i stopped by archer's room to tell him bye. he gave me a long hug and kissed my cheek before he let me leave. i told grandma that i was leaving too, then went outside and got into my car.

when i got to billie's house, i was greeted by finneas. we spoke briefly until i told him that i was going to talk to billie for a bit before we started.

like billie said, she was still in the shower. i hesitated before i opened the door, and i walked into the bathroom.

my eyes widened as i did. she was singing as the water ran. she sounded good. actually, good doesn't even begin to describe how she sounded.

i've heard her sing before, but that was when we were listening to music and practically screaming along to the lyrics. compared to this, she definitely wasn't even trying when i've heard her sing before.

i almost didn't even want to tell her that i was in here, because that would mean she would stop singing. i really didn't want her to stop; i could listen to her sing forever, because oh my fucking god.

"bil?" i called out, loud enough so that she could hear me over her singing and the running water.

to my dismay, she stopped singing. she pulled the shower curtain back some, and she poked her head out. she smiled. "hi, baby. i'm almost done, just gimme another minute or so."
