The dark layer in front of my eyes was gradually peeling away. The pain in my stomach was also lessening. I slowly raised my hand and touched my stomach before taking it in front of my eyes.
Blood.
I curled myself. The blurriness passed away, and I saw Sophia sitting in front of me. "Are you feeling better?" She asked.
My heart skipped a beat as I nodded. She placed her right hand on my tummy and her left on my eyes. She shushed. It took so long for the pain to fade. "What happened to me?" I murmured to myself.
She removed her hands from my tummy and put that hand on my head. "You don't have to stress out, dear." She mumbled.
My head lightened up. Memories appear so blurry in front of my eyes.
She removed her hands as she picked up a mirror. She held it over my eyes. "Tell how much you remember." She said in a hushed tone.
"I got an old letter. I tried to keep it hidden from Henry... and then..." I stopped. My eyes widened once I realized the mirror was showing us in that position. Showing us what happened then.
I gasped.
It showed Henry leaving the house, demanding me to close my eyes. He said he had a surprise. He then went to his backyard. He was looking for something in the boxes I had decorated earlier.
On the other hand, another Henry entered my home, this time with bright cyan eyes. He was holding a box.
And then he stabbed me with the knife... No. The knife swooped down on me.
After watching this, I remembered everything. It was all very much like a TV show. And I am the heroine in this story, while everyone else is a villain.
I locked my gaze on Sophia. "Who are you?" I inquired. "What exactly is this mirror?"
I exclaimed once more as Henry appeared behind her. As he leaned against the wall, he smiled. I took two steps backward.
"Mmhm," Sophia murmured. "Don't be afraid."
I couldn't think of anything because it was all so confusing and difficult. My mind was completely blank. I was calm instead of stressed. The area was both relaxing and depressing. Worst of all, I'm still alive.
I inhaled some air. My back was against the wall.
"You must find the answers." Henry stated. He took a step towards me. He was very close. I squinted. "All by yourself. The questions you've been asking yourself inside your head."
He made a mess of my hair. "I'm sure you'll miss me once you find out the answers. You'll miss me the most." I opened my eyes, looking into his green eyes, and our gazes met. My eyes were gazing so innocently deadly. They were too weak to show emotions. "But right now, you only have us to rely on. Savannah, don't pass up this opportunity. You'll be sorry later."
"We can support you till the moment you want us to leave. But before you find out the answers, we will take whatever risk to keep you safe," Sophia stated. She gave me a friendly smile. "And after that..." She let out a breath. "You'll know."
"Oh yeah, the gift." Henry remembered as he dashed to the table. When he started opening the box, my heart skipped a beat.
He took out a locket. He approached me. As I closed my eyes, I felt his hands reach for my neck. He was in front of me because I was leaning against the wall. I felt his breath on my lips.
