i walked into redds house and saw laila on the couch next to kaia.

laila looked at me then looked away.

"wassup dez." redd said and walked up to me.

kaia shook her head as redd kissed me on the cheek while laila wasn't looking.

"you ready?" i asked as he grabbed his weed off the couch.

"ye, laila you riding wit kaia?" redd asked.

"why can't i ride wit you?" laila asked.

"she can literally drive her own car." laila said.

laila shook her head and grabbed her purse.

laila and kaia walked out and redd walked up to me again.

i looked at him and he kissed me on the lips.

we walked into the court room and i saw lisha with the kids.

mora's eyes lit up when she saw me.

aiyden looked at me but he didn't do anything.

i smiled at them then went to where i had to stand.

"ms.lake is not present for some reason." the judge said.

my stomach knotted at the flashbacks.

"well i guess there's no one to testify against you, because mr.james isn't here either." she said.

"my name is judge bee, and i'm supposed to determine whether you are suitable to have your kids back or not but no one is testifying." judge bee said.

"do you have a home ms.rose?" judge bee asked.

"yes ma'am." i said.

"a father figure for the children?" judge bee asked and kaia looked at me.

i sighed and looked at redd.

"is he the father figure?" judge bee asked.

"but, i don't know the full case on why you aren't able to have them so i can't give you legal rights to them." she added.

"they'll still be in lisha's custody." judge bee said.

"wait!" lisha yelled and stood up.

"my mom just passed and i'm not in the right mind to have any extra responsibilities.." lisha added.

i walked over to dez and aiyden.

aiyden sat there while zamora was crying because i was crying.

i walked out the courtroom and redd followed behind me.

"why won't they just give me my kids bro?" i asked and cried.
