"Don't worry, bill won't expect me to have the journal, I'll hide it." Star promised and tucked it inside her jacket. The blue lights vanished from the wall and Dipper's hat stopped glowing. She gave Dipper his hat back and took his hand, "let's go!"
Dipper put his hat on his head. "Did you say Bill is following Mabel?!" Dipper tightened the grip on her hand and speeding up his walk.
Star ran out of the bunker and pulled the lever. The lever turned invisible again and the door closed. She took Dipper's hand again and led him through the forest. Eventually, Star slowed her pace and glanced around, listening. Then she flicked her gaze toward movement. "Mabel!" She called out her name.
"Mabel, is that you?" Dipper called, walking forward.
Star hung back. "Hold on," she whispered and pointed at a triangle-shaped shadow.
Dipper stumbled back, clenching his fists.
Star pulled the journal closer, thinking.
