We are gods because we can dream

Might there be planets and suns and moons

Further away than me from you,

I still see whenever I sleep

Your face cupped in my hands neat

And when I dance in the afternoon

My body still synchs to your music tune

The mornings though are the most divine

When I mistake my pillow for your chest

And just like this I dream in rewind

Up until I reach the moment you left

That's when its lucid to me that soon

I will feel mortal when I wake again

and you're further away than suns and moons.

Soulmates

They say that eyes

are the window to the soul

And when I look through yours

I see myself, mirrored in gold

I see our past, future and now

how the pieces click together

Just as if they are always told

that this is meant to be - that's why

no matter what, no matter how

Together we will grow old.

Someone you hold dearly

Needs space and time from you

How to take that lightly

And not feel rejected at once

I yet have to comprehend

How to see the hope in it

When I just don't understand

Why we can't deal with this

Why does it feel like I'm loosing you?

I need you, I love you, I want to be with you

I know we are different, but can't you see it too?

We are better together than parted in two.

It's so weird,

I don't feel it - jealousy.

People go green over it

And I couldn't be bothered

I am not afraid to loose

To someone else

Because I trust in you, in us

And I know what I am worth

to you.

So weird, this comfortable certainty

You are free to do whatever you want

Yet I know that you'll always come to me

And not because that's what we agreed

But because of the love that you see in me

And I know I don't give you the same kind of safety

Nor certainty, or the same love to see

But I know that I want you, despite anyone else

Because you are my best friend and soulmate indeed.
