Scorpio pov

One and half days later

So I was an animus and only two people knew Leopard and Jack last night I heard the other prisoners sing it was quite the spectacle to listen to dragons singing with hope-filled voices but Kestral was right about the song it was one of the worst things I've ever heard but it didn't matter if it was good it gave hope to those who needed it. There also were two full moons last night it looked amazing

My train of thought was interrupted by multiple dragons screaming it was faint I quickly stood up startling sunny who was asleep

Sunny:what's wrong Y/n

Scorpio:somethings happening listen you hear that

She lifted her head I knew she started hearing it when I saw her ears twitch

Sunny:yeah hear it

Then I remember today is the day the dragonets escape while fatally wounding Scarlet after a minute it was quiet cautiously I jumped down from the cage and walk out onto the platform scanning the skies for any skywings not seeing any I went back inside and climbed back into the cage

Sunny:what's going on

Scorpio: I don't know

After a minute I saw Peril land on the platform outside I tensed up

Standing right there is the most deadly dragon on the continent one wrong move and I'm gonna be burnt to a crisp one by one the dragonets all landed and come into the room where I and sunny were hanging. Clay ran up happy to see sunny

Clay:Sunny

Sunny:I knew you'd be all right. I just kept thinking about the prophecy and how we can't die because we have to stop the war

I glanced at Glory who rolled her eyes when Sunny said that but who can blame her she was robbed of her childhood but to be honest no skywing could be better than Glory.
Peril used her firescales to melt the lock off allowing Sunny to hop out of the cage before I could jump down Glory stopped me she stood there right in front of me starring right into my eyes I starred back

Scorpio:so where is Starflight

I already knew the answer but I had to act like I didn't know

Gloy:taken by nightwings

Scorpio:crap well at least he'll be safe for the time being

Glory was about to say something when everyone started leaving I quickly jump down and ran up to Sunny

Scorpio:is it all right if I come with you all

Sunny:Sure

She lowered herself so I could climb on her neck to say I was excited was an understatement I was going to ride a dragon

As I was sitting on Sunny's neck they started arguing about whether or not they should save Kestral I kind of zoned it out but could blame me the conversation between them was boring to listen to. While I had zoned out I didn't realize that Sunny was about to take off and with little warning, she took off I wrapped my arms around her neck since she didn't have any spikes I could hold onto. After a minute I loosen my grip on her neck and looked around the view was breathtaking.

Time skip to when Kestral and the others land at the waterfall

I glared at Kestral as she said that they did what they did to protect them but how are they supposed to stop the war if they don't know what war truly is reading about war is one thing but experiencing war is an entirely different beast you will never know what war is until you walk out on the battlefield knowing that you're going to have to kill someone you'll never be able to get people to feel that feeling of dread and fear once you step off whether it be a boat, plane, or a car until they experience it themselves.

Kestral:and your keeping scavenger as a pet

At that point, I lost my shit I got up from the rock I was sitting on and stormed over to Kestral taking off my mask and helmet, throwing them on the ground

Scorpio:call me a pet again and I will personally rip your horns off and use them for shishkabobs

Kestral:you dare threaten me!

Scorpio: I do dare because I know I can win a fight against you

She noticed my face seeing the multiple scars along with a glazed-over eye because of a knife fight that didn't go my way. She didn't say anything else about me only asking if Peril wanted to come with her and then telling the dragonets how to contact her if they got in trouble honestly I just grabbed my mask and helmet then went to sit back down and ignored the rest of the conversation

Time skip

We had reached a cliff overlooking a battlefield everyone was distributed at the scene that lay before them but I wasn't dead icewings and mudwings littered the ground it was obvious the mudwings won due to the mudwing village still intact and the few mudwing bodies

Tsunami:who do think won

Scorpio:mudwings

Clay: how can you tell

Scorpio: the village is still intact from what I can see and there are fewer mudwing bodies

Sunny: how can anybody look at this and say we won

Glory:this battle must have happened recently look some of the fires are still burning

Clay: we're at the edge of the mud kingdom now I should go alone

I was going to protest against him going alone but he had a point all of us would be killed on sight if we went in I wasn't going sit here and do nothing though

Scorpio:I'm gonna go see what I can find on those bodies

They all gave me a look that said "what" I then realized what I just said was so fucking morbid

Scorpio:look I'm not gonna sit here and wait for Clay to come back and if we are going to get into any fights I need supplies and... Who's the mudwing

Tsunami:Glory change her colors to look more like a mudwing

Scorpio:oh... Anyways if I can also find some treasure among(insert among us joke here) the dead then we could trade that for safe passage through somewhere or trade it for other things also while I'm looking through the bodies why don't you guys find out where we should go next

Everyone nodded agreeing with what I said. Sunny and Tsunami walked off somewhere while Glory and Clay went to the mudwing village. I started to repeal down the cliff using my grapple once I reached the bottom I put on the bracket to change my size to start looking through the bodies the only thing I could think of was god I hope I find something useful
