It's been a month since he left, and still no word. She finally stopped asking for him, and last week I refused to try to reach out. Suigetsu texts me once a week to check in and say hi. He tells me what he was doing, but we both avoid talking about Sasuke for apparent reasons.
I woke up to my phone ringing on a Monday morning. I answered it without checking the caller I.D.; "Hello?"
"Hey, sexy," Sasuke replied on the other end. "Haven't heard from you in a while. I miss your voice."
"Whatever, Sasuke. I called you for three weeks straight to hear from you, and you didn't reply. Your daughter has finally stopped asking for you." I hissed into the phone. I hung up and went into the bathroom since I felt like I was going to be sick.
He called me two more times before texting me. "Karin, that's not fair. I've been busy, please can I talk to her? I miss her."
When I stopped throwing up, I sent a reply. "Sorry, I'm not feeling well. She's still asleep. I'll call you when she wakes up. Did you get her voicemails?" I wanted to keep this about his relationship with his daughter.
"Yes, she getting better at talking; it's cute."
But why do I feel like this? I took Azula out to eat last night; I must have got food poisoning.
The rest of the day went well, and I felt so much better by lunchtime. I had her call him, and he actually answered and talked to her for the ten minutes she could focus on him. "She's going to play with her toys now," I explained as she walked away.
"Momma. Potty." Azula said, grabbing her front and squeezing her legs together. I quickly hung up without warning and ran her to the bathroom. She was able to make it to the training toilet. I was so excited, and she was too.
I sent Sasuke and Suigetsu a message, then called my parents about her success. Sasuke messaged me back, "I didn't know she was potty training. Why is it such a big deal? I don't understand."
"It was the first time she told me she needed to go before she had an accident. We've been trying for about three weeks now, and this is a big step." I replied and rolled my eyes.
Suigetsu replied with "Great job! That's so good." I sent him a thank you and went about our day. Azula only had two accidents all day which is another massive step in potty training. Thank god, we're not going to need diapers much longer; they eat up a significant portion of my budget since Sasuke isn't bringing two packages a week to help out anymore.
Things will always be complicated with him, but at least he's stepping up and calling her, I guess. I'm still not holding my breath, though. It's the first time in almost a month that we've heard from him.

A week later, I've suffered from morning sickness every morning. I finally broke down on Sunday morning to take a test, and sure enough... fucking asshole left me another gift. I called Ino to ask her to come over; I really needed a friend. I texted my mom, telling her I thought I had a bug, and asked her to keep Azula until tomorrow. I needed at least a day to process this.
"Hey girl, what's going on?" Ino called, walking in. "You sounded pretty distraught when you called."
"Ino... I'm pregnant again. I can't do this again." I sobbed as she wrapped her arms around me.
"You can't, but we both know that you won't be able to bring yourself to terminate it." Ino sighed, soothing my hair.
"I told him to wrap it up. I don't want any more babies at this time. One is enough, and this house isn't big enough for two babies." I retorted. "Plus, he's only called once in a month. I know for a fact that he can call more often or at least text."
