I walked into my little apartment on the outskirts of town and flung my purse on the table. I climbed the stairs and changed out of my jeans and into a nice pair of shorts and a black t-shirt. Work today was horrible the customers were rude as ever. Thinking that I just organized all those cans for my health. Oh hell no! My biggest pet peeve would have to be when people would grab something and put it somewhere else. For instance just the other day I found a package of hamburger in the boxed food section behind a bunch of boxes. It smelled so bad that I about puked. I descended the steps and flopped down on my black cloth love seat. Letting the cool, conditioned air relax my tired body. After taking a deep breath I sat up. I stretched forward and turned on the TV to one of the pop music channels. As the song played through my speakers, I walked into my kitchen. I filled up a water jug before proceeding to the balcony to water my plants. I tipped the jug up allowing the water to pour on to the dry plants. My head shot up at the sound of a trumpet. What the hell? I looked up at the sky to see dark clouds taking over the once clear blue sky. What was going on? I thought as I furrowed my brow in confusion, there were no reports of rain today. I heard the sound of clattering on the roof tops. I looked down from the sky to see a white cloud of hail moving our way. I spun around and ran back inside the house. I closed the sliding glass door behind me just as the large wall came over my apartment building. I covered my ears with the palm of my hands to drowned out some of the loud hail sound that was pounding on my porch and rooftop. I watched in shock as the hail destroyed windows and cars below. The TV channel switched sounding a high pitched alarm. My head spun around as it flashed different colored bars until going to the news caster.

"We are coming to you live with breaking news. We have had reports of trumpet sounds, phenomenal weather and a series of flue outbreaks. We go live to field reporter Arthur Lux. Arthur over to you." The TV image switched over to a man holding his hat with one hand and a microphone with his other.

"Thanks Joe I am currently in downtown New York City where a pandemic has broken out. We have received many reports of damaging weather across the U.S. Along with-" Arthur stopped and touched his ear piece before taking a deep breath and looking back at the camera paler than ever. "The CDC has issued a state of an emergency along with the weather channel. Stay indoors and away from anyone who looks infected. This virus is killing people left and right. The dead are reanimating and biting into others. Stay inside and do not engage any of the infected. I repeat do not engage-" The camera fell to the ground and growling could be heard along with a pain filled scream. The image was sideways but you could see Arthur running away from the camera man before getting attacked himself. And being torn apart limb by limb. At the bottom of the image you could see a pool of blood forming around the camera. The TV cut out and went back to its colored bars for a second before a solid bright red screen covered my tv with the words 'Stay inside, don't engage the infected and wait for an evacuation team to rescue you. The trumpets will sound at the end of time. Good luck.' My body was frozen at the previous events. The hail and trumpet sound seized to stop outside. The last sentence on the TV stuck to me it was from the Bible. The trumpets will sound....this was the end of the world.
