Skylar's Point of View
Jason sighed. "I don't know exactly what happened to be honest. Yes William worked for the government but he hasn't shared anything with us. I know about as much as you do."
I found that hard to believe, the fact that he knew the same amount as myself was a pretty unfathomable. I would just have to do some digging of my own. The rest of the car ride home was quite and surprisingly not awkward. We rounded the corner that led to the gates of the community and the people on guard opened them up. I drove the car to the council house and put it in park.
"Home sweet home." I said softly as I grabbed my bag from the trunk. "Luke." I said making him look at me. "Park the car." He caught the keys as I threw them and nodded his head once.
I started for the steps when I heard Jason say behind me. "I'm sorry."
Shoulders slumped and I sighed, he wasn't gonna let this go was he? I turned around and looked at him. "Do you even know what you did to me?" I asked trying to keep the bitterness down, Jason sighed and hung his head down shaking it. "Come over after diner and I'll show you."
He looked up and met my eyes for a brief moment before looking back at the ground and nodding his head. I turned back around and continued into the building. "We're back." I said and soon Brad appeared, I wonder what his job was, must have been something in leadership considering he was always in the council house.
"How'd it go captain." He asked.
"Had a little bit of trouble but we got through it." I said setting my heavy pack on the table. "Got everything on the list on my end the others I don't know, I hope it was okay but I picked up some things for myself."
"Thats fine darlin." He smiled at me making me force a small smile.
"Hey um where's Will I need to speak with him?" I asked.
"What is it dear?" William said from behind me making me jump.
I looked over at Brad and then back to Will. "In private."
Will smiled before gesturing down the hall. "My office is this way."
I smiled a fleeting smile at Brad before brushing a stray hair behind my ear, then following behind Will to his office. Once inside the decent sized room with a large desk and black leather chair Will spoke. "So what did you want to ask me?" He sat in the large chair and folded his fingers together on the desk facing me.
My nerves starting to make themselves present as my body began to shake. "I wanted to see if you knew anything about how all this happened? Anything to do with the trumpet sound across the sky and the hail."
Will sighed. " 1 Corinthians 15:51-5 says 'For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.' I just thought he had something different in mind. When it came to the resurrection of the dead, but I was wrong. The Bible spoke of hail-"
Before he could continue a high pitched scream pierced through the air. Even with the walls blocking the outside the scream was still very loud. We stood and quickly ran outside. As we did blood splattered on to our skins.
I looked over at Will. "What did the Bible say?"
His face was shocked. "Revelations 8:7 hail and fire mixed with blood falling to the ground."
"Hail, now blood who knows when the fire will show up." I said aloud. "EVERYONE INSIDE!" I hollered and since everyone in the community was outside they ran into the meeting house. Time to get everything out into the open.
