Kitty

We could've driven to New York in a mini road trip, but Vinnie and I decided that it would be best to fly, that way we can get to our hotel, and see central parks leaves.

I've always wanted to see New York in the fall, and now we're actually getting to witness it. It just takes me right back to how many things I've gotten to experience since meeting Vinnie.

I squeeze his hand in mine, before pulling him forward with me.

"Jesus- the park isn't going anywhere." He reminds me with a grunt. "You're gonna get Finch wound up."

I look back at Vinnie with a smile and then glance at Finch beside me who's just excited to be here. "He wants to see the leaves too! I just want to get there before the morning rush."

We reach the hotel doors and I push one open for us to go through, and out onto the side walk.

I stop in my tracks, my mood sliding downhill quickly as soon as I see all the people walking up and down the sidewalks, their shoulders bumping into each other.

I guess we missed our chance.

I take a step back, retreating subconsciously, but Vinnies hand on the small of my back pushes me forward gently.

He walks around me, not taking his hand from mine, but now leads the way for us through the crowd. My heart starts racing, thumping against my chest until I feel my ribs constrict.

Don't think about it, just think about him. These people are normal, no one is here. I can't be scared anymore.

I lower my eyes from darting to peoples faces to Vinnies hand in mine, his rings shimmering from the sun. His fingers grip onto my hand tightly, but not enough to hurt me in order to keep me with him, and his other hand has Finches leach now, although I don't know when he grabbed that.

We got a hotel with 5 minute walking distance from Central Park, so we got there pretty quick with Vinnie mean mugging everyone out of his way.

I can tell before we even reach the park, because the colors drastically change from brown dead leaves to bright orange and yellows. It's gorgeous, distracting me from the panic I felt just moments ago while we walk through the entrance.

I speed up my pace to Vinnie's side, and let go of his hand just to thread my arm around his, getting closer to him

"It's gorgeous." I observe, my eyes on the trees above us. "Just like home."

"Yea except for worrying about cougars, we have to worry about muggers." Vinnie grumbles under his breath, glancing around.

I smile at him and respond lightly, "I don't know which is much better."

"I'd take a person in a ski mask any day."

I laugh at Vinnies comment and lean my head on his shoulder.
