Not an excerpt, but too small to be on its own. Daisy asks Robbie a few questions.
"I have to ask, when you do what you do, is it you, or is it something else?" Daisy asks softly.
"A bit of both," Robbie answers after a moment of thought. "This...thing inside of me, it's its own being. When it went into Mack, it was in complete control and did exactly what it wants: to punish sinners. But, somehow, when it's in me, it's like we've both got control at the same time. I don't really know how to explain it." He sighs. "It's easier when it's someone I have something against. After the crash, I killed so many people, and it felt like I was in control entirely for some of them. But there are other times when it feels like I'm just there for the ride. I'm not sure how this works really."
"I guess you didn't get an orientation from the Devil on all of this," Daisy jokes.
"Just someone setting me on fire," Robbie jokes back.
"So, would you say you're possessed?"
"Maybe? I guess that's a suitable term. But at the same time, I can live a kinda normal life for a while."
"This all sounds like a mess," Daisy responds with a frown. "Can't imagine this being my reality. Waking up every morning with a demon inside of me."
"You get used to it," Robbie answers with a sad smile.
