Chapter Four - Falling for U

(this chapter is more bruce centric)

When Bruce got home, the first thing he did was shower. He didn't know why, but he wanted to look nice for Vance. Well not nice considering they were just going to the Grab-n-Go with three other people, but he wanted to look at least a little decent.

After showering, he went to his room to get dressed. He put on a green shirt, some blue jeans, and his black converse. When he was dressed he remembered he didn't tell his friends about hanging out with Vance, so he opted to call Finney and ask him to tell the rest.
He he picked up his phone and called the Blake residence, which only had a home phone due to the siblings' strict father.
"Hello?" He heard a voice from the other side, but it wasn't Finney
"Hey Gwen, it's Bruce, could you put Finn on the phone?"
He heard some muffled yelling and then an out of breath "Hello?"
"Hey Finn"
"Oh hey Bruce! What's up?"
"So I just wanted to let you know that Vance invited me to go to the Grab-n-Go with him and I asked if you guys could come"
"Oh that's f- Wait. Do you mean Vance as in Vance Hopper? Like Pinball Vance Hopper?"
"Yep. Could you tell the others?"
"Bruce w-" Bruce hung up the phone. He'd deal with it later.

Bruce went downstairs and instead of heading straight for the door, he was greeted by his little sister
"And where are you off to?" Amy, his sister, said
"Just the Grab-n-Go with some friends, mom" he replied, rolling his eyes
"Why do you look like that?"
"Like what??"
"Good" Amy said after fake gagging
"Oh shut up" Bruce said, then finally made his way outside. He picked up his bike that was propped against the fence and starting biking to the Grab-n-Go.

Once Bruce got to the Grab-n-Go, he went inside and, to no surprise, saw Vance at the pinball machine
"Hey Vance!" Bruce said as he walked towards the blonde boy
"Hey" He didn't take his eyes off of the game "Where are your friends?"
"Oh they're on their way... I think. I hung up before they could scold me"
"Why would they scold you?"
Bruce looked around for a second before gesturing to the boy in front of him
"Oh. Right"
Bruce was about to say something else, but his friends walked over to him
"Bruce!"
"Finn!"
The two hugged
"Okay jesus I think you're good now" Billy said from behind Finney
"Yeah, jesus" Griffin said
The four conversed for a while before they heard a loud "FUCK!" come from behind Bruce, making, almost, everyone in the small store jump
"You good over there?" Bruce asked Vance
"Fine."
"mhm..."
"I am!"
"I believe you."
Vance looked at him a second before starting to chase him around the store
"Stop! Vance!" Bruce said, out of breath from running and laughing
"C'mere shithead!"
Vance caught up to Bruce and picked him up, slinging him over his shoulder.
"Put me down!" Bruce said
"Nope." Vance laughed

All Bruce could think about was Vance's smile. Maybe the blonde boy wasn't as bad as people made him out to be
