"You- wha- uh-" I splutter as I stand in the doorway, my mouth hanging open. "You're Klaus' mom?"

The woman in front of me nods, staring at me with her bright eyes. Her long blonde hair extends down her back and the dress she's wearing looks like it hasn't been changed in a thousand years, which it probably hasn't.

I look anxiously past her standing in the doorway in an attempt to catch a glimpse of the hybrid I came here to see, not sure what to say.

"But how?" I ask.

She looks as if she's about to answer my question when someone appears behind her in the doorway.

"Well, well, what do we have here?" the man says as he approaches us. Klaus' mother moves out of the way and he takes her place, leaning against the doorframe and looking at me. "You're looking for Niklaus?"

"Yeah," I say, not liking the way his eyes are running up and down my body. "Can I see him?"

"Now why would a pretty little thing like you want anything to do with that ugly ass?" he says with a smirk, ignoring my question.

"I'm not that pretty," I snarl at him,"and I'm not that little. Now, where's-"

"Stella!"

Klaus' voice comes from inside the house as he makes his way over to us, yanking the man out of the way.

"You can't be here," he says harshly, stepping toward me. "You have to leave right now."

"Nonsense, brother," the man behind him says. "Invite the pretty girl inside. I, for one, would love to get to know her better."

"Enough, Kol," Klaus snaps at him. "She's leaving."

"Wait," I tell him, a thought occurring to me. "Kol. He's your brother. Klaus, what's-"

"Enough of this," his mother says, stepping forward. "Niklaus, invite the girl in."

"But-"

"Now."

She walks away without another word. Klaus looks like he's going to protest but before he can say anything Kol grabs my arm and begins to drag me into the house.

"Hey!" I protest, attempting to pull out of his grasp with no luck.

"Relax," he tells me as we walk toward the living room. "We just want to get to know the girl my brothers been fawning over these last few months."

"I really don't think that's what's been going on," I tell him as the hybrid pouts along behind us.

Just as we reach the living room I'm ripped from Kol's grasp by a blonde blur. Rebekah grabs me around the throat and slams me against the wall, cracking the plaster and causing me to groan.

"Nice to see you too, Rebekah."

"Shut up."

Klaus reacts instantly and speeds over to us, attempting to rip his sisters hand off my neck.

"Rebekah, no!"

"Your little friend shoved a dagger in my back," she sneers at me, ignoring her brother. "It hurt. Do you want to know what that feels like?"

"Let her go," Klaus orders her but I wave him away, choking slightly as I reach for her hand to attempt to pry it away from my throat.

"It's alright," I say. "She's angry that a weak little human managed to get the best of her. She should be. What happened, Bex? I thought you were supposed to be a badass."

I smirk at her, my eyes beginning to glow as my fangs extend past my lip. My werewolf instincts are acutely aware of the vampire in front of me, pushing me to bite her.
