~ALLIE POV~

I sat on the couch wrapped up in a blanket as Bernard stood in the kitchen making hot chocolate. I sneezed and I heard his smug voice say, "I told you so."

"Shove a marshmallow in it." I hissed.

Bernard brought me a steaming mug of cocoa and I thanked him. He sat down opposite of me and gave a small shrug. "You have to admit that you should have listened to me."

I rolled my eyes, sipping the drink. After a few more sips, I set the mug down. "Did you mix something rotten in there?"

"I put your medicine in it," He shrugged. "I knew you wouldn't drink it normally, and I wasn't in the mood to fight you, so I put it in your drink."

I rolled my eyes again, but smiled slightly. "Hey, I though elves couldn't get sick?"

"Full elves can't." He said. "Not half elves. So you and I both are prone to getting sick. The other elves may get a little sniffly, but that's about it."

I nodded, curling up onto the couch. I spent the rest of the night listening to Bernard as he read to me. The last thing I heard before I fell asleep was, "I love you, Allison." So I sleepily responded with, "I love you too, elf boy."
