"It is hard to understand addiction unless you have experienced it." - Ken Hensley
Did you know I used to be normal
Easy to find, easy to see
But my addiction took it all away
Can't you see what it's done to me?
Everything I do, I do for the addiction
Always on my thoughts, on my mind
What would I do without it?
Within days I would have died
At first I was still alive
But with just a few more clicks
My life slowly drained away
The marks on my wrists, slits
It took away everything I cared for
I began to spend the days in my room
Addicted to the artificial light
That led my way to doom
Just one button that makes it alive
My laptop would beam and glow
Every second, minute, hour, day
Would make my addiction grow
But what if the power shuts down
Will it come back?; my heart fills with dread
A blank screen in a locked room
The next day, someone might find me dead.
