hey emma! first off, thank you so much for requesting 🥰🥰 i've been wanting to make you something for ages, but i get anxious at the idea of just *springing* stuff on someone unsolicited. i'm glad your request finally gave me the excuse.
i've not yet watched andor, but i haven't made a genuinely (non-comic) star wars cover in a while. meltdown was fun to work with; although my process didn't involve anything particularly mind-bending, i've really enjoyed using official promotional material as of late. the andor promotional material meshes so well with that of mockingjay: part ii, so i think i got lucky in that regard.
using the same base image, i created three different covers. the first one incorporates a little bit of blue, which i know is something you didn't ask for. however, i did like how the accent worked to bring out the red in the rest of the cover. i had a few issues with figuring out how to do the title, but i'm happy with the final product. (my laptop, however, is not. me vs. using fonts that kill my memory... that said, i'm hoping to get a new—and better—laptop very soon.)
the second cover is probably my favourite. in terms of concept, it's a lot simpler than the others, and definitely a lot more clinical, but i like it. the red felt very... violent. and even the rebel alliance symbol feels detached. i'm not sure why i made this cover so surgical, but i hope you like it regardless 😭😭
the third cover is purely red/orange, as requested. i fiddled a bit with the lighting in this one, placing warmer reds on jennifer lawrence's side profile to make her appear almost *backlit*? this cover i think would be better as a poster, but at the same time i quite like it as a cover.
