WE'RE SO BACK!! hellooooo everyone welcome back to hellions!! we resume the agenda with rom's dick grayson fic, nyctophobia. roms, thank you so much for your request, and thank you so much for your patience.
for the first cover, i made a few different versions in terms of colour; i couldn't really settle on what i liked the most. i just knew i wanted to take advantage of jorge jimenez' gorgeous dick grayson (gorgeous everything, because that man is soooo fine... iykyk). something i love about his art style in particular is how much texture his interiors have, long before the colourist even gets to the line art. as much as i love bruno redondo, who's on the current nightwing run, i would LOVE to see jorge work on the title. anyways, i digress. i played around with different shades of blue for these covers specifically, using x shade as the main colour and red to as a backlight of sorts.
the second cover... not to toot my own horn but i personally love it. i wanted to go for something that took more inspiration from jessica jones and her aesthetic. the first colouring for this cover is very noir-esque, and very classic summers (scroll back and you'll see how much i love that red-and-black combo. it's the red hood lovebot in me); the second is more fun. in both, i used travis moore's dick grayson as you requested! i framed the city / the buildings on the right of jessica in the alley to be darker, and for dick to be looking out into the light. the red side in that second cover is also darker than the blue.
and the middle is purple because bisexualism. happy pride month /gen 😭😭
roms—again, i hope you really like these covers! thank you for giving me an amazing project to work on and get back into the swing of things. to everyone else, thank you for your continued support. i'm going to try and complete as many requests as i can; i'll do a little stalk of your accounts to see if your stories are still up and published, and i might even message you to confirm you still want a cover made. i appreciate everyone's patience at this time 🫂🤍
