—— chapter two.
( guess who's not dead! )
❝ Everything I needed, you already
gave me. You let me stay. ❞

There have been a lot of time where Aether felt confused. This was definitely the weirdest one yet.

He recognized his name but not exactly who he was. Or where he was. He was in the middle of nowhere as well, but there was a powerful energy around here.

His body was weak, bloody, dirty. He felt like he was dying immensely and painfully. Aether's vision was blurry as well and that didn't help him at all while laying down. His head was pummeling with pain and a terrible headache as well.

He had finally managed to prop himself up as he took in his surroundings. It was dark, the moon did at least finally light up so he could see better. Aether rubbed his eyes for a few seconds and searched his surroundings carefully. He noticed a ring-presumably a golden ring on his finger that read letters he couldn't exactly tell. The letters were jumbled and messed up which didn't make it exactly easier as well.

He felt a painful ache in his lower abdomen as he placed his hand over it, groaning in pain. Before long, he was slowly limping his way to where he didn't even know...

He was tired, of course he was. Even after that long rest he was still tired. Aether stumbled as he walked, leaning against some trees for help. He was confused, really confused. Aether couldn't help the aching pain everywhere against his body-it wasn't a nice feeling, that was for sure.

His clothes were tattered and dirty, also kind of bloody as well. Aether walked around the forest before stumbling across something...

Something caught sight of his fuzzy vision as he groaned quietly, the pain in his stomach wasn't helping him at the moment yet he continued walking along. Trying to reach the place. Aether walked around the trees, trying desperately to reach the place as it got closer and closer. He walked past the magic border he didn't even realize was there, feeling a sudden urge of energy run past him.

"And, who might you be?" A voice spoke, startling him. Huh...

"Did you hear me? I asked who you are," the girl demanded quietly, walking closer to him now as she came into his view. Her blonde hair was lit up by the moonlight and her stormy gray eyes showered with curiosity as she stared at Aether. "Oh.. uh-my name is, A-Aether.." she stayed quiet, inspecting him before she sighed. "Annabeth. Annabeth Chase," she introduced softly, her voice now quiet as if people around would actually hear her.

She walked closer to him, looking him up and down. "How'd you get past the borders, unless you were allowed too or you're a demigod as well..." she looked at him in mystery, trying to figure something out.

"You must be a demigod... there's some kind of powerful energy surging around you," Annabeth muttered, hand on her chin as she pondered.

Demigod, he was a demigod? There's no way, he was an ordinary person-at least he thought he was ordinary. "I'm not-a de-demigod..." She raised a brow, eyes confused. "Then how'd you get past the border? Unless Mr. D decided to grant you permission to enter the camp." She crossed her arms now, feet tapping the ground impatiently.

Annabeth paced around, suddenly taking a few steps away from Aether as she searched him thoroughly. "The most important question is... who exactly is your god parent?"

A few seconds passed as she said that before she suddenly stopped moving, entirely focused on something else now. Something up above Aether's head. It was glowing bright, twirling around and spinning down.

A lyre...

"...oh, I was not expecting that..." she whispered, her body awkwardly standing there as the lyre faded away...

Then hooves came along and there stood.. some kind of horse? "Oh, Chiron.." Annabeth bowed her head. Chiron stared at Aether, looking at him carefully. "Son of Apollo, hm? Annabeth, Aether will be put in cabin 7." She took a look at him before nodding, motioning for Aether to follow her.

Aether legs felt tired following annabeth.

Annabeth sighed, knocking on the door softly. They waited for a few minutes as the door finally opened lightly. They stood tall and tan, with blond locks and blue eyes that were tired. "Sorry to be waking you up Will," she apologized, running her hand through her blond hair. He shook his head, "Oh, no, it's um.. fine," the boy said, now known as Will.

"You have a new camper." Hands on her hips, she explained what entirely happened to Will as he nodded at some parts. "Did you get it all?" She asked as he nodded. "Yes, Annabeth-I got it all in my head." She smirked before saying goodbye and walking away into the pit of darkness.

Aether was now standing alone, his clothes were still tattered and dirty. "Well, come in." The boy opened the door fully now, stepping aside as Aether reluctantly stepped inside of the cabin. Warmth rushed through his body and removed the coldness from before. Will walked in front of him, mumbling something about an extra pair of clothes.

"Just wait here for a few seconds." Will went to a cabinet and began rummaging through it, searching for something-Aether had guessed. Then Will was speedily speeding back to him with an orange shirt that said: Camp Half-Blood on it and comfortable black pants. "I'm pretty sure Austin wouldn't mind you using some of his clothes."

Will led him to a bunk. "You'll be sleeping on the top bunk since I sleep on the bottom one. Hope you don't mind." Will climbed on his bed, giving Aether a goodnight before plopping himself to sleep.

Aether stood silently and awkwardly before grabbing onto the ladder and climbing up. He huffed out a sigh, laying down on the bed as he closed his eyes.

He probably wouldn't get used to this, would he?

Aside from that, at least he has a nice camp member to help him through this at least.
