Fade to a wide shot of a river in the Pride Lands. Ducks fly past overhead.
A jerboa scampers up to the riverbank, holding leaves. It drops the leaves onto a pile of leaves that it has collected, then gathers more leaves from nearby. It starts to eat the leaves
"Mmm-mm."
Jerboa: *gasps*
" You look tasty."
The jerboa looks around frightfully.
Jerboa: [stuttering] Who's there?
Some nearby grass rustles
"I'm Makuu, the crocodile, and I'm gonna eat you."
Jerboa: *gasps* [The jerboa flees.] *screams*
Cut to a hare nibbling at a bush on the riverbank.
Hare: *munches*
"Mmm-mm. You look tasty."
The hare looks around frightfully.
Hare: *gulps* [stuttering] Goigoi? The jackal?
"That's right, and I'm gonna eat you."
The hare flees.
Hare: Help!
Cut to a pile of grubs. A tongue slurps one up. Cut to Muhangus lying in front of the grubs.
Muhangus: *munches*
"Mmm-mm. You look tasty."
Muhangus: Uh?
Muhangus looks around.
"I'm gonna eat you."
Muhangus: Janja, the hyena! [Muhangus flees.] *screams*
Cut to the Lion Guard walking through the Pride Lands.
"Help!"
The hare, the jerboa, and Muhangus run up to the Lion Guard.
Hare: Lion Guard!
Muhangus: Thank goodness.
Maddie: woah woah woah! Easy! What's going on?
Jerboa: Makuu!
Hare: Goigoi!
Muhangus: Janja!
Kion: Lion Guard, we'll need to split up. Fuli, you and Ono take on Goigoi. [Fuli and Ono nod.] Beshte, you the twins and Bunga go after Makuu. [Beshte and Bunga nod.] Leave Janja to me Maddie and Azazel
Kion smiles. He turns to face the hare, the jerboa, and Muhangus.
Kion: You three, take us to 'em. [The hare, the jerboa, and Muhangus nod.] 'Till the Pride Lands' end...
Gang: Lion Guard defend!
The groups charge off in different directions. Cut to Muhangus's den. The camera pans right to show Kion Maddie and Muhangus crouched nearby.
Azazel: Okay, [Kion and Muhangus creep forward.] where was Janja?
Muhangus: [stammering] Right behind my den.
Kion and Muhangus pause.
Kion: Okay, stay back. [Kion creeps forward, then leaps over Muhangus's den.] *grunts* Janja! [Kion looks around.] Show yourself!
The camera pans out to reveal that the clearing is empty. Some leaves blow by.
Maddie: Huh, nobody here.
Cut to a patch of grass.
Bunga: All right, Makuu, [Bunga, then Beshte bursts through the grass.] we're coming to get ya!
