In the Outlands, Victoria pulled on a root, groaning when she couldn't take it out. It seemed good to eat, she had to wash it even though the water was kind of dirty. She heard mumbles behind her, rolling her eyes knowing it was probably her older brother Luke. He had the habit to mumble and mutter to himself whenever he was mad at something.

"Zayn, Zayn, Zayn. Calum wasn't even his father..." A scrawny older lion muttered to himself. "He just took him in."

Oh, hey Victoria. Where's little termite Zayn?"
The oldest asked before mocking. "The chosen one?" He then cut his claw through the root which made the female fall back.

"Luke, where's Zayn?" Victoria asks roughly. "Did you leave him out there on his own again?"

"Hey, it's every lion for himself out there," Luke replied as he scratched himself like a flea-bitten dog. "That little termite's gotta learn to be on his own."

"Mother's is going to be mad, she told you to watch him!" Victoria snapped.

"Oh, who cares?" Luke scoffed as he scratched himself. "I should've been the chosen one. I'm the oldest. I'm the strongest. I'm the smartest—Ooogh! These termites!" He then attacked himself with the infesting insects.

Victoria smirked in self-satisfaction at Luke's condition.

"I could be a leader, if she would give me a chance!" Luke groaned as he scooted along with his rear.

"Oh yeah? Why don't you tell that to her?" Victoria smirked.

"Yeah? Don't think I won't!" Luke challenged.

"Well," Victoria chuckled. "Here's your chance."

Luke saw what she meant as he heard their mother coming back with the youngest son. "What? Oh... Oh, Mother, hi!" he smiled nervously as he came to her side. "Mother, I caught some nice field mice for your dinner. I left 'em by the, um... Okay..."

Demi then dropped Zayn next to Victoria while ignoring Luke for now.

"Hey, Zayn, wanna fight?" Victoria playfully challenged her younger brother.

"You were supposed to be watching him!" Demi glared at her older son.

Luke recoiled in horror and fright from her.

"It's not his fault, I went off on my own!" Zayn spoke up.

Demi glared at him and backed him up. "What were you doing?"

"N-Nothing..." Zayn trembled.

"Who has made us Outsiders?" Demi glared.

"Harry!" Zayn gasped.

"Who killed Calum?"

"Harry!"

"And what have I told you about them?"

"I'm sorry, mother!" Zayn sounded nervous for the first time in his life. "Th-They didn't seem so bad, especially the girl... I thought we could be—"

"Friends?!" She glared.

Zayn nervously shivered.

"You'd thought you would get to the daughter so then Harry would welcome you with open arms?! What an idea," Demi scoffed at first before that idea would actually work. "What an idea!"

Zayn looked overwhelmed and confused of his mother's response.

"You brilliant child, I'm so proud of you!" Demi praised as she held her youngest son in a rather comforting notion. "You have the same conniving mind that made Calum so... Powerful."

"Yuck..." Luke shuddered in disgust.

She glared and snarled at him which then made him nervously smile.

"Ugh, the 'Chosen One' ..." Luke grumbled about Zayn's destiny.

Demi glowered at him as she then took Zayn into their den.

Zayn landed in the den with a grunt as his mother cast over him.

"I now see the path to our glorious return to power!" Demi grinned viciously.

"But I don't want—" Zayn started.

"Hush!" Demi hissed before sounding tender toward him. "Hush, my little one... You must be exhausted..." she soothed before she started to sing.

Demi:

Sleep my little Zayn
Let your dreams take wing
One day when you're big and strong
You will be a king

"Good night." Zayn smiled sleepily.

"Good night, my little prince," Demi said darkly. "Tomorrow, your training intensifies." She then began to walk further into the cave.

Demi:

I've been exiled, persecuted
Left alone with no defense
When I think of what that brute did
I get a little tense

But I dream a dream so pretty
That I don't feel so depressed
'Cause it soothes my inner kitty
And it helps me get some rest

The sound of Simba's dying gasp
His daughter squealing in my grasp
His lionesses' mournful cry
That's my lullaby!

Now the past I've tried forgetting
And my foes I could forgive
Trouble is, I know it's petty
But I hate to let them live

Luke:

So you found yourself somebody
Who'll chase Harry up a tree

Demi:

Oh, the battle may be bloody
But that kind of works for me

The melody of angry growls
A counterpoint of painful howls
A symphony of death, oh my!
That's my lullaby!

Calum is gone, but Demi's still around
To love this little lad
'Til he learns to be a killer
With a lust for being bad!

Luke:

Sleep, ya little termite!
Uh—I mean, precious little thing

Victoria:

One day when you're big and strong

Demi:

You will be a king
The pounding of the drums of war!
The thrill of Kovu's mighty roar!

Luke:

The joy of vengeance!

Victoria:

Testify!

Demi:

I can hear the cheering

Luke and Victoria:

Zayn! What a guy!

Demi:

Payback time is nearing
And then our flag will fly
Against a blood-red sky
That's my lullaby!
