The concert started well. It was Taylor's first night playing to the New York audience at her show. As the show went on, she started to get more tired, but that was normal. After all, who wouldn't be tired while jumping around and singing for two hours straight?
But she started to get unusually exhausted by "Love Story," and the dress that always made her feel on the verge of overheating did not help. But she couldn't disappoint her fans, especially because they paid to see her perform. She had to deliver. So she powered through, completely ignoring her gut instinct's screams to stop or at least take a break. She had to make the experience worth it for the audience. That meant performing without unplanned stops, regardless of how tired she was or dehydrated. So she kept on going. Or, well, tried to. In the middle of "The Way I Loved You," she sang, "I miss screaming and fighting and-"
Next thing she knew, she heard a thud as the mic hit the ground, and the world went black.
