Part Three.

"Girl I'm telling you I wasn't even drunk last night I don't know why y'all keep saying that" Tavi said as we sat across from each other at Waffle House. Her blacked out sunglasses and her having to drag herself out of my bed this morning said otherwise.  "Tav" I said with a laugh. "You were drunk" I said. "And its okay" I said with a smile and she laughed. "Okay I was fucked up but Coop always got something to say and Ric always tryna lil sis me I had to act like I was tired. Shit I can't do nothin around them" she said in a serious tone and I laughed. "You know Ric just being Ric" I said. "Yeah I know" she said as she grabbed the syrup. "So wassup with you and Coop" she said and I smacked my lips and laughed as I ate my food. "Nothing's goin on with Coop. I'm not looking for love I'm tryna get to this money Tav" I said. "I hear you on that, nothin wrong with that at all. Coop is cute tho all the females on him and he want you. I mean we all saw the potential back in the day too" she said. "Yeah" I said as I scooted my food around with my fork. "Plus. We know Mia gonna get a bag regardless. But" she said adding emphasis on the but. "Don't let that or Marcus stop you from finding love or from it finding you" she said and I nodded at her. Before the waitress walked by she caught her. "Y'all got something to drink" she asked and I shook my head and laughed. "What would you like." She asked. "we have orange juice, milk, tea, shak..." She said before Tavi cut her off. "Nah mami something strong. Liquor" she said. "Oh no ma'am" she said. Tavi smacked her lips and nodded and the waitress walked away and I continued to laugh. "You crazy Tav" I said through laughs. "Girl they should have liquor everywhere I don't understand" she said as she grabbed her purse. "But that's why I keep this" she said as she pulled a mini bottle of wine out making me burst out into laughter making everyone look at us.  "Want some" she asked. "Yeah I do" I said continuing to laugh. She cracked the bottle and poured me some then her some more. "Ric coming right" she said. "Yeah he should be pulling up" I said. We started eating and talking again, soon after we both had a buzz going and then we seen Ric pull up as we looked out the glass window. "Look at Ric fly ass" she said and I smiled when he looked at us. "Wassup nigga" Tav said as she stood up and yelled slightly banging on the window. Everybody looked at her and he shook his head and I did too and then he walked inside. "Why you gotta be so fuckin extra" he said to Tavi. "Because you my brother" she said as she continued to stand. They hugged each other and he kissed her cheek and I stood and he did the same with me. "Wassup sis" he said and then he sat down. "You gone get you some food" Tavi asked. "Hell yeah I'ma eat" he said. "You want some" she asked as she held the bottle up. He snickered and shook his head. "A wine bottle in Waffle house is crazy" he said. "Amia foreal" he said with a laugh. I held my glass up to him and he laughed and shook his head. "Hi what can I start you off to drink with" the waitress asked as she came back up to the table. She started taking his order and my phone buzzed and I looked and seen that it was Coop, asking where we were. I told him and he said he was on his way. "You heard anything" I asked Ric. "Nah not yet" he said with furrowed eyebrows as he scrolled on his phone. The waitress came back with his food and drink and he looked at Tav. "Pour some of that shit in here" he said referring to his orange juice. "Yeah niggas drink mimosas too" he said making us laugh. Tavi poured some and he drunk from his cup. The door opened and Coop walked in. He did look good. Fuck that he was fine. Like real fine Coop grew up well. "Yooo" he said as he walked over to us. "Wassup nigga" he said to Ric as they dapped each other up. "Shit" Ric said back. "Tavi, Amia" he said. Tavi rolled her eyes and he laughed and shook his head. "Wassup Coop" she said. "Hey" I said and he smirked and sat next to Tavi. "I can't fuck around wit y'all ass for too long I gotta pick up the cake at 3 for Bri party and gotta be on time. Tianna on my ass today about this party" he said as he shook his head. "As she should" I said. "Man her ass drivin me nuts" he said. "I feel you bro. I don't even feel like fuckin with Angela ass today tryna get Sani." Coop said. "Awe yeah she do be on yo ass" he said. "Why she be trippin like that bro. It ain't like you one of them niggas who ain't taking care of they kid. You there for Sani" Ric said as he ate. "man you know why" Coop said. "I ain't with her ass nomore that's why" he added as he shook his head. "All I can do is continue to be a father that's it. When she get on that weird shit, I go through her pops to get to Sani like when he with her pops and she get to tripping and shit.. her pops let me come grab em and keep em for a few days maybe a week. He coo and her mom's is. I just can't fuck with her that bitch got somethin missing up there. She don't know how much I love my son and be ready to knock her ass off about em. I keep my coo doe'for the sake of him" he said making me feel bad for him. I never understood females like that. When somebody's trying to be a good dad and to be present, let them. Coop grew up with his dad so I know it kills him not being able to be with his kid as much as he wants to be. "Yeah I know how her ass is man. Fucked up" Ric said. "I'ma get em though we gone come through today I'ma just have to deal with her ass. It's at 4 right" he said. "Yup 4" Ric said back as he downed his cup. "You aint heard shit back about them niggas' Ric asked. "We a get into that later on tonight" Coop said and Ric nodded and they left it at that. "Man what y'all in here drunk" he said with a laugh as he looked at the wine bottle. "It's yo bottle huh with yo drunk ass" he said to Tavi and she pushed his shoulder making him laugh. "It's hers huh" he asked me as he shook his head and I laughed. "They ain't have no liquor in here" she said. "It's IHOP of course they ass ain't gone have no liquor." He said. "You needa lay off that shit Tav" he said. "You need to lay off the backwoods" she said. "I'm ight don't worry bout me" he said making me and Ric laugh. "Y'all ass always arguing man wassup. Y'all been at it since we was kids" Ric said. "Literally since we were kids" I added. "I can't stand his ass" she said as she mugged him. He smirked and put his arm around her shoulder. "Come on, you know you like my sister that I never wanted" he said and she side eyed him and laughed making us all laugh. We all engaged in conversation and shortly after Coops phone started ringing. He looked at the screen and he sighed. "Hold up I a be back" he said as he stood up. "Yo" he said as he started to walk away. He went outside and we could see him through the glass window. He was going off on the phone, spazzing on somebody. Tav and Ric talked and I kept my eyes on Coop. He rubbed his hand over his face and hung up the phone and stared down at the ground like he was in despair about something. He turned back around to walk back inside and he glanced at me through the window and kept walking. He came inside and Ric looked at him. "Wassup nigga you ight" he asked. "I gotta catch a flight just got a call telling me my pops in ICU. not doin too good man I can't go into detail right now about it ima have to call you later I gotta go" he said. My face frowned up and I could sense the hurt. Coop and his dad always had a close tight bond. As a kid his dad made him grow up and learn life a lot earlier than most but Coop loved his dad he always talked about him. His dad didn't necessarily abandon him but his dad is a big cartel dealer. He had the feds on him and had to leave and he knew they'd chase after him so he left Coop behind, not wanting to get him involved or to go into the system I believe. Ric stood up and dapped him up and they hugged. "You know I got you for whatever bro just say the word. Holla at me when you make it. You got a fly right out right now" he asked. "I gotta find a flight might be a lil later but I gotta find one asap" he said. "Praying for you Coop" Tav said. "Look I gotta go I'ma keep y'all updated" he said. "Wait before you go you think you can drop Amia off on the way." Tav asked and I looked at her. "Sorry sis I gotta go get Shannon she just texted me" she said as she looked at me. "I can take you" Ric said. "I can come on" Coop said. "You sure" Ric asked. "Yeah" he said back and I stood up and grabbed my purse. "Love y'all" I said. "Love you too" Ric said back and Tav did too and me and Coop headed out. We both got in the car and it was silent. I didn't know what to say to him. I didn't know how to help people deal with shit cause all I ever knew was to be tough. I felt bad but how could I express it, what could I say?
