The dark pokemon
I based this variant on the saying "all dogs go to heaven" because all doggos are good doggos.
The Basenji (an African dog breed), angels from Abrahamic religions, miracle healings, cherubs, and Argos from Homer's Odyssey. Its Pokedex entry is inspired by how medieval bestiaries state that a dog bound to a patient cures internal wounds, and the incorrect belief that dog saliva can heal wounds.

Entry one: During ancient times stories were told of a Houndoom so valiant, loyal, and selfless that it defeated armies. Statues of it have been built for millennia.
Entry two: The levels of loyalty and valiance this pokemon has is compatible with Gardeviour.
Type Swapped Entry: Its icy breath is the only antidote for Johtohan Houndoom's burns. Only those who are truly wicked at heart will ever be frostbitten by its breath.
