The sun and the moon take advantage of the little time they have together.....

Narrator pov

The sun. A bright burning star millions and millions of miles away from the earth. Not only is the sun beautiful, but it's essentially a source of life for the human race. Humans know how beneficial the sun can be to them as a whole...but what they don't know is how beneficial the sun can be to one specific person.

Her.

She is everything the sun is. Her skin always glowing a pretty golden tan, always unblemished. It was in her nature to always be bright. Her name? Y/n. The sun was a big part of y/n, since birth the sun had always been connected to the girl....so much so that y/n can only go outside during the day, when the sun is still out shining.....why?...because she was sun-kissed. But y/n didn't mind, she loved the sun...just like another girl loved the moon.

Y/n,

A girl who had never seen the moon before, who would read books about nighttime, who could only wish she could find comfort in the night like she was able to in the day, because the thought that she could have something that was comforting to her besides the daytime was absolutely thrilling to the girl.

No one believed y/n when she said that she wished to see the moon. To see if what the books described the night sky to be like was true, since that was all she could rely on anyways, books.

Y/n could only dream. But the moon glared at her, as beautiful as the moon was, it felt like ice. And y/n could do nothing but dream of a life where it wouldn't. Y/n can't live in the night though. It's too dangerous.

The moon. Stunningly bright and pale in the night sky. She was cold, but it was the kind of cold that gave you chills, that made your skin rigid with goosebumps, made you feel alive.

She had never seen the sun before.

Ariana.

A girl who would spend all her time in the dark, because as breathtaking as the sun was, coming into contact with it, or it's light, would burn her skin, like acid. She didn't like the burn, so she would spend her days inside, avoiding the small sun rays that would peek through her blinds, and trying to imagine what the day time is like. She wished she could go out during they day. But she can't...her life is nothing but living in the shadows.

Everything began with a sunset...

Ok, scratch that,

It actually began with a clumsy y/n stumbling down the stairs of a school rooftop, and Ariana going up them, causing the girls to bump into each other.

"I'm sorry" y/n started "I should be more careful" she finished, a gentle smile on her lips, and Ariana giggled at that, and she reached out to steady y/n on her feet, it happened. They touched. Ariana's skin burned.

She instantly pulled her hand away, no more smiles or laughter from either girl.

Ariana felt like ice under y/ns touch, and y/n felt like fire to Ariana. Opposites, yet somehow they were attracted like magnets.

Something so inexplicable, yet both girls completely understood it.

Backing away from each other, they stared at one another, hard........Ariana knew y/n was the sun, and y/n knew Ariana was the moon.

"It's like a curse or something" y/n mumbled out "I spend all my time in the daylight because the night is bad for me, but I really really wish I could see it" she finished, feeling like she needed to explain the reason her hand felt like fire when she touched Ariana
