Aonung x reader • Dance•

II

You and Aonung become closer after the night of the festival. But his mother had taken an interest in you that you weren't expecting. She insisted you start helping her in her duties as Tsahik. Of course you couldn't refuse but learning her practice took up most of your time leaving very little for dancing and even less with Aonung. Finally you were given a day to yourself. You found Anoung sitting on his own by the shore. " Hey, Anoung!" You called out picking up your pace. His head whipped around at the sound of your voice.
" Oh hey. You got the day off?"
" Yep! Got the whole day to myself."
You smiled at him hoping he'd want to spend his day with you too.
" Yourself huh? You weren't planning on spending it with anyone else?" He grinned at you raising his brow.
You felt your heart skip a beat in your chest. ~ Did he know I wanted to spend it with him? No way! He couldn't know. He's just teasing....I think. ~
" Eh wel-"
" I get it if you want to practice dancing today. I can leave you alone if you want-"
" NO! I mean you could stay and help? I dance better with a partner." You were hoping he didn't think you were desperate to see him but you didn't want him to go.
" Yeah I guess I could help you out since you asked." He chuckled rolling his eyes as he lifted himself up from the sand. You smiled at him. It was as if he didn't want to but couldn't help but be sweet to you. He turned to you " So what dance do you want to practice?"
" Do you know how to do the Dance of the Ilu?"
" There's a dance for Ilus?" He looked at you laughing like you were joking. " Yeah and I know you've seen me perform it before although it has been a while."

" I definitely don't know that dance." He looked almost apologetic. " That's ok! The best way for me to practice is to teach so I'll just teach it to you." You smiled clasping your hands together in excitement. You walked down into the water together until you were both ankle deep. The soft waves rolled over your legs. You found it relaxing and this dance was typically performed in the water. If you were going to teach Anoung you wanted to do it right.
You began by teaching him the arm movements and the different positions your fingers had to be in with each step. He was picking it up pretty fast for a guy that apparently " didn't know this one". He'd sometimes get frustrated if he couldn't quite mimic your movement but he never gave up trying. You liked this about him. He always gave everything he had when learning something. You felt that maybe the pressure of becoming the next Olo'eyktan made him determined to learn everything he could or maybe it was something more simple that drove him. When he was happy that he knew the upper body routine you moved onto the lower body movements and foot positions. He found this more difficult as he couldn't move his hips like you could but he didn't have to. You were almost finished teaching him and eclipse had already begun.
" What are you doing with your foot there?" He questioned while you demonstrated the last few steps of the dance. You looked down to see what he could be referring to when suddenly a big splash of water hit your face. The shock of the cold water hitting you made you lose your balance and you fell back on your butt in the water. When you opened your eyes Anoung was laughing at you. He had used his tail to splash you with water. ~ skxqwng~ You frowned at him and although you didn't react immediately you knew how to get back at him. " Ok very funny now will you please help me up?" You stretched out your hand to him. He was still laughing when he took your hand but before he could pull you up you grasped his forearm with your other hand and threw yourself back pulling him down into the water. However you weren't excepting him to land on you. You closed your eyes as you fell back into the water. Luckily Anoung stopped himself from directly head butting you. When you opened your eyes you were laying on your back fully submerged in the water and Anoung was barely an inch away from your face. You felt lost in his big blue eyes. He didn't move a muscle. The waves above his head swayed his hair like seaweed dancing in the current. ~ He looks beautiful ~ Aonung pulled himself back and you up out of the water. He cleared his throat " I should go home my father will be looking for me." He couldn't even look you in the eye. " Oh eh yeah me too." You couldn't stop your heart from pounding. ~ what was that?~ Aonung started to walk away leaving you standing in the water. He stopped and turned his head back to you. " Thanks for today. I had a lot of fun."
You watched him walk away from you. You felt a strange sadness grow deep in the pit of your stomach with each step he took.
